🗓️2026 Calendar Fundraiser🗓️

Hello Jackson! We know how vigilant our community is about potential phone scams, and we want to thank you for always looking out for one another.

With that in mind, we want to give you a heads-up about an official and legitimate fundraiser currently underway for the Jackson Police Department.

We have partnered with Hometown Publishing to create our 2026 department calendar. Their representative, Ms. McDaniel, will be making calls to local businesses and residents to solicit funds for this project.

Our partners at Hometown Publishing know how important your trust is. In fact, Ms. McDaniel will encourage you to call our department directly if you have any questions at all concerning the legitimacy of the call.

To verify the fundraiser, please call our main office at (251) 246-4484.

The funds raised from this calendar are crucial for supporting our various community outreach programs throughout the year.

Thank you for your continued support of our department. Please share this post to help us spread the word and ensure the success of this important community project!

This map shows the special traffic plan for the Jackson Aggies football game, which begins at 4:00 PM on Friday, September 12, 2025.

🚦 One-Way Street
The most important change is that N. Portis Avenue will become a one-way street. All traffic must travel southbound, from W. Cedar Street toward W. Clinton Street. This designated travel route is marked with green arrows on the map.

🚧 Road Closures
Several streets immediately surrounding the stadium will be closed to through traffic. These streets are highlighted in yellow on the map and are considered "NO Travel roads".

Barricades will be in place to block access. The closed streets are:

Residents who live on these streets will receive passes to get through the barricades.

We wish everyone a safe and exciting time at the game!

Today, we pause to remember and honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001. On this solemn anniversary, the Jackson Police Department stands in solidarity with our nation, reflecting on the profound impact of the tragic events that unfolded.

We pay tribute to the nearly 3,000 innocent lives taken too soon, and we will never forget the immense bravery of the first responders—firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and countless civilians—who selflessly rushed into danger to save others. Their courage and sacrifice embody the very best of humanity.

The events of 9/11 tested the spirit of our nation, but in the face of unspeakable tragedy, we witnessed extraordinary resilience, unity, and unwavering patriotism. Let us carry forward the lessons learned and honor the memories of those we lost by continuing to foster a spirit of community, compassion, and vigilance.

Our thoughts remain with the victims, their families, and all who were affected by this day. We will .

Good Morning, last night was quite a night in Jackson. Wanted to take a second to thank a few people.

First to the men and women of JPD, I’m very proud of each of you. You were dealt a tough hand and each of you rose to the occasion and kept things safe for everyone in town last night, both during and after the games. I’m very grateful to all of you, and I could not be more proud of all of you.

To JFD, we are thankful to each of you who worked with us last night. The extra eyes and hands were a tremendous help, and I appreciate that we can come together as a team in order to serve Jackson when it’s needed most.

To Sheriff Smith, and the members of Clarke County Sheriff’s Office, as always we thank you. As small agencies, we need to be able to depend on each other, and it is always such a pleasure to work with all of you.

To Enterprise Rescue, thank you! All of you were tremendous and we’re grateful for your service.

To the fans, coaches, and teams of the Jackson Aggies, Jackson Academy Eagles, Saraland Spartans, and Park Place, thank you all for your cooperation. While we’re unable to make everyone happy, each of you cooperated and helped make it a safe and successful night.

Considering the volume of foot and vehicle traffic, and the number of people coming into and out of town, it all went as smoothly as possible under the circumstances. We had only one incident in which 3 male juveniles went into an unlocked car and removed some items, but the items were recovered and 2 of the 3 arrested.
Other than that, no accidents, or incidents of any kind, related to the games.

Again, I thank you all. May God continue to guide and bless all of you!

Chief (Jerry)
