This is where the money raised in banquets has a bigger impact than what we could accomplish at the local chapter level. When you can turn $1 into $4 with matching funds, the amount of habitat work benefits!

The NWTF recently completed over 1,500 acres in non-native and invasive species treatment and an additional 1,500 acres of crop tree release treatments on the Wayne National Forest that will increase wild turkey habitat substantially.

In Conjunction with a grant from the Ohio Division of Wildlife, and property provided by Ohio Valley Conservation Coalition, an NWTF youth squirrel hunt was conducted on Sept 4-5, 2021. Youth shot .177 air rifles, were instructed on firearm safety, sighting in scope, shooting fundamentals, target shot, instruction on cleaning squirrels, and squirrel was prepared for lunch on Sunday. Weather didn’t cooperate on Sunday, and we lost 5-7 kids due to Covid quarantine, but we ended up target shooting on Sunday in the rain under a tent.

We were fortunate enough that we were able to have our banquet March 7 this year. We much appreciate everyone who attended and made this event a success. Set your calendars for the first weekend in March 2021 for another great event!
