📣 Secretary of State Mobile Branch at the Shelter!

The Secretary of State will be at Jackson Interfaith Shelter tomorrow, and this service is open to anyone in the community who needs to take care of business with the Secretary of State.

You can complete the same types of services you would normally handle at a Secretary of State branch. Just bring any required documentation and payment for the service you need.

Helping our neighbors is one of the many ways MACI strives to make a positive impact in our community. We were proud to donate meat to Jackson Interfaith Shelter, supporting individuals and families in need throughout the Jackson area.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the young 4-H farmer whose hard work and dedication made this donation possible. 🎉 Help us wish Reaign a very happy 6th birthday!

We recently celebrated this sweet girl’s special day at the shelter, and we’re so glad we got to make her birthday a little extra special!

And of course, no birthday celebration is complete without a beautiful cake. We’re so thankful to the Birthday Lady for generously donating these special cakes and helping make birthdays at the shelter a little sweeter. 💕

You may have noticed recently our move-out posts have gotten an upgrade! When someone secures housing and moves out of the shelter, they are gifted with one of these homemade signs. Two of our supporters, Matt and Leslie, generously helped us make the signs and taught us how to add the vinyl. We love that we can now add this extra special touch when celebrating someone's success. Thank you Matt and Leslie!

🏠 A stronger future starts with a community that shows up.

A few weeks ago, community members gathered at the future Family Shelter, a project led by Interfaith Shelter, to celebrate the progress being made and leave messages of hope and encouragement throughout the space.

As construction continues, so does the vision for a place where families facing difficult circumstances can find shelter, stability and support as they work toward their next chapter.

We’re grateful to Interfaith Shelter and everyone working together to bring this vision to life and create a lasting resource for families in our community. 💙

We had such a fun time at this month’s Ella Sharp Museum field trip! The new exhibit Earthpulse, by Ashwini Bhat, had just been installed that morning so we were among the first to see it, which was such a treat. Each person made a wildflower seed ball to take, and we all contributed to the community installment. Thank you Ella Sharp for blessing us each month with these outings!

We had such a great time last week at our most recent MSU Extension Nutrition and Wellness cooking class! We are so grateful for this partnership that provides a fun and unique experience while also teaching important life skills.

Some of our team members were able to visit Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries today to tour their new family center and learn about their programming. We felt so welcome and learned a lot! Thank you KGM for your partnership and hospitality!
