Help us celebrate progress! 🎁

Our clients have opportunities to take part in classes that help them learn new skills, work toward their goals, and make positive changes in their lives. We like to celebrate those efforts along the way with a little something extra!

We’re looking to restock on $10 gift cards to Walmart and Meijer to give to clients as they reach milestones and celebrate their progress.

If you’d like to donate a gift card, we’d be so grateful! You can mail them to the shelter or drop off at our front desk any time that is convenient. Thank you for helping us recognize the hard work being put in every day.

Big thanks to our friends at Jackson Breakfast Rotary! They’ve started donating move out baskets, which are given to individuals and families when they move out of the shelter into their own place. It’s full of cleaning supplies and other items to help get started with the necessities.

We’re grateful for your faithful service and your thoughtful donation!

We love celebrating move-outs and other big milestones, but it’s the moments in between—a baptism, an interview, or a sweet girl’s birthday—where gratitude can really shine. Over the weekend we celebrated Charity’s birthday, and it was so special! Thank you to everyone who makes these moments possible. 🎂🎈

Yesterday, we welcomed Spring Arbor University students for a day of service! They spent the morning praying over our neighborhood and serving alongside us and City Free. So much was accomplished, and we are so grateful for their time and hard work! ❤️

A special thank you to our rockstar volunteer, Joan, who spent hours preparing for the group and worked alongside them throughout the day. Joan has faithfully served with us for years, dedicating countless hours to keeping our donation areas organized. Thank you, Joan, for all you do!

If you have driven by our block recently, you've probably noticed that the expansion project is continuing to take shape! The auxiliary building is nearing completion, as is the exterior of the Family Shelter. The continuing progress is just a reminder of our supportive community –– we could not do this without you! Thank you for joining us in our mission to create a dedicated space for families in need. ❤

We recently welcomed another first time group of Consumers Energy volunteers! We’re blessed to have multiple Consumers teams who serve lunch every month. Any time a group of at least five employees serve together, the company makes a financial gift to the shelter. Thank you Consumers employees and corporate for your investment in what we do!
