🎓✈️ NESA Southeast Graduates the Next Generation of Civil Air Patrol Leaders ✈️🎓

Civil Air Patrol cadets and senior members from across the Southeast recently came together for the National Emergency Services Academy Southeast (NESA-SE), an outstanding training event focused on leadership, aerospace education, emergency services, and professional development.

Throughout the academy, participants engaged in classroom instruction, leadership exercises, and hands-on training while working alongside experienced Civil Air Patrol members and military personnel. The program emphasized teamwork, professionalism, and the Civil Air Patrol Core Values of Integrity, Volunteer Service, Excellence, and Respect.

On April 19, 2026, more than 100 faculty, staff, students, family members, and friends gathered at the USAF Vigilant Warrior Training Center to celebrate the accomplishments of this year's 47 graduates during the 2026 NESA-SE Graduation Ceremony.

The ceremony was hosted by Lt Col Harvey Yarborough, NESA-SE Course Director, and featured remarks from distinguished guests, including Brig Gen R. Jason Bailey, CAP Vice Commander, and Col Roxanne T. Toy, USAF Officer Training School Commandant. Also in attendance were several Civil Air Patrol and CAP-USAF leaders who came to recognize the graduates' achievements.

Since 1997, NESA Southeast has provided advanced, hands-on emergency services training for Civil Air Patrol members, helping develop skilled leaders and supporting CAP's missions of emergency services, aerospace education, and cadet programs.

Congratulations to all graduates on your hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence. The future of Civil Air Patrol is brighter because of leaders like you!

🚁 Cadets Take Flight with Drone Operations! 🚁

The Tupelo Eagle Composite Squadron enjoyed an exciting, hands-on meeting as cadets took to the skies through drone operations training! From learning flight controls to practicing precision flying, the evening was packed with teamwork, leadership development, and aerospace education in action.

Cadets had the opportunity to build their skills, gain confidence, and explore one of the fastest-growing areas of aviation technology. Experiences like these help prepare young leaders for future careers in aerospace, aviation, and STEM fields while reinforcing the Civil Air Patrol mission of developing tomorrow’s leaders.

A special thank you to our dedicated senior members—Lt Warfield, Col Mims, and Capt Davis—for sharing their knowledge and expertise with our cadets. Your guidance, encouragement, and commitment to mentoring the next generation make opportunities like this possible.

We are proud of our cadets for embracing new challenges and continuing to expand their aerospace knowledge!

Honoring the Fallen: A Civil Air Patrol Remembrance

Today, the Mississippi Wing of the Civil Air Patrol pauses to remember, honor, and salute the brave men and women of the Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice for freedom.

Deepest gratitude is extended to all who have been lost in service to the nation. A sacred space is held in the hearts of many for the missing and the unaccounted for—those whose stories of valor remain etched in the skies and on distant shores.

As an auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force, the Civil Air Patrol remains committed to preserving this legacy and supporting the families left behind. This sacrifice is the foundation of freedom. Their service will never be forgotten.

🇺🇸 Remember. Honor. Respect

Congratulations, C/Lt Col Bradyn Long!

✈️ Meet 2026 LeRoy W. Homer Jr. Foundation Scholarship Recipient: Bradyn Long

Bradyn Long is a student at Mississippi State University, pursuing aerospace engineering with the goal of combining his love for aviation with a future career in aircraft design and, later in life, professional flying.

His passion for aviation began early, especially after flying in his uncle’s small Piper Cherokee — an experience that sparked the same excitement and purpose he still feels every time he’s around airplanes.

He has deep personal ties to the story of Flight 93. Much of his family is from Shanksville, Pennsylvania, and his grandmother has long served as an Ambassador at the Flight 93 National Memorial.

Growing up with that connection taught him the importance of leadership, responsibility, and service — qualities he strives to embody as both a future engineer and a pilot. The example of courage and strong decision-making associated with Flight 93 has shaped the way he thinks about aviation and the kind of leader he strives to be.

We are proud to support Bradyn as he pursues his future in aviation and honored to recognize him as the Foundation’s 40th scholarship recipient, commemorating the 40 heroes of Flight 93. ✈️💙

Special thanks to the Tupelo Composite Squadron Color Guard for their outstanding support and professionalism during the ceremony.

Congratulations to both commanders and all members recognized for their dedication to service, leadership, and community throughout North Mississippi! 🇺🇸✈️
