The Jackson Township Middle School proudly welcomed its newest members into the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) during a special induction ceremony held on May 28, 2026. Stacey Fisk, Adviser proudly welcomed family members, teachers, and administrators to gather to recognize students who have demonstrated excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship.

During the ceremony, current NJHS members shared the significance of the organization's core values and led the traditional candle-lighting presentation. Inductees were recognized for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to making a positive impact within the school and community.

The event celebrated the achievements of the new members and encouraged them to continue serving as role models for their peers. It was also the first induction for students at JTMS as they have merged from two middle schools into one, beginning a new Jackson tradition.Congratulations to all of the newly inducted NJHS members at Jackson Township Middle School!

Check out the news sent to us from the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program over at Jackson Township High School. Twenty-four students from JTHS participated in a year-long mentoring program through the Big Brothers Big Sisters partnership with Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus. JTHS School Counselors Ariety Fellenz and Sue Kratz oversee the program.

Throughout the year, students received personalized mentoring and career exploration opportunities from hospital staff. Bi-monthly visits included meeting with mentors, attending presentations, and touring a variety of hospital departments, including the Emergency Room, Operating Room, Pharmacy, Radiology, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Food Service/Dietetics. Students also participated in hands-on learning experiences using medical equipment, including the Da Vinci robotic surgical system.

The program provided valuable insight into healthcare careers while helping students build confidence, communication skills, and professional relationships.

Happy Friday! The Jackson Education Association is so pleased to see all of our elementary buildings hosting “Preschool Family Night For Incoming Kindergarteners,” which happened around our district this past week. The Jackson Education Association proudly supported the Switlik Elementary School “Kindergarten Patriotic Show” this afternoon. This annual tradition takes place every year on the Thursday prior to our Memorial Day weekend. There’s no better way to celebrate both our own Switlik kindergartners as well as the United States of America than singing a few patriotic songs together in one unified voice! Great job kids - you all make our entire Jackson School Community such a special place to work and learn each and every day!

On Tuesday April 21st, Switlik Elementary School held its first "MLL & Multicultural Family Night!" Earlier in the year we surveyed our students to see what was most important to them, and one of their responses was to learn more about their own family backgrounds and cultures! So with that, our entire school went all our during the month of April and began a study of different places all around the world, including the countries and heritages that make our community so wonderful! Students all received a personal passport and rotated between different grade level hallways and classrooms as they traveled to check out all the different displays. They truly learned so much about different people around the world, as well as a little more about themselves.

During the evening event, we invited all of our students and their families into our school to walk around together and see all of the student and staff hand created projects that adorned the hallways. It was truly and amazing event with a turnout that exceeded all of our expectations!

The week of April 20-24 was Underground Spirit Week at Jackson Township Middle School. Staff secretly organized special days to see if the students would notice. Starting with Monday the days were as follows: gym clothes day, black clothes "Ninja" day, blue and green Earth Day, drink from an odd "cup" day, and the culminating mustache day. Jackson has some observant students who did indeed identify the "secret" of each day. They especially had fun seeing all the adults in the building donning mustaches!
