Today is International Overdose Awareness Day 💜

Naloxone can save a life. It is easy to use, it works fast, and if you give it to someone who turns out not to be overdosing, nothing bad happens. It's the kind of thing worth having in your bag or your glovebox even if you're pretty sure you'll never need it.

We keep it stocked at TCHD and it's free! No appointment needed, just come by to pick it up!

And if today is a hard one for you, whether you're struggling yourself or you're missing someone, 988 is there to call or text anytime.

We lost Dolly Parton on Tuesday, and we keep thinking about how much of what she did was quietly public health work 🩷

She mailed free books to kids.

She gave a million dollars to COVID research at Vanderbilt in 2020. Then she gave another million for pediatric infectious disease research. Then she got her own shot on camera and told everyone else to go get theirs.

And for decades she supported the LGBTQ+ community 🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Thank you, Dolly.

Two words, worth carrying with you.

The first 100 walkers at this year's Stride Against Su***de get a "You matter" patch with the su***de awareness ribbon. Put it on a backpack, a jacket, a hat, anywhere people will see it. You never know who needs the reminder that day.

Join us Saturday, September 26 from 10 AM to 12 PM at Rendezvous "R" Park for our fourth annual walk. Free and open to everyone, with food, music, and local mental health resources on site.

Details at the link in bio.

If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988 anytime.

When public health is working, you don't know we're there.

You don't think about your tap water. You don't think about the milk in your fridge, or the salt in your shaker, or the smoke detector on your ceiling. That's the whole point. The wins are invisible, and the list of people who never got sick doesn't make headlines.

Swipe through for a few things quietly changing your life thanks to public health 🫡

💙 Naloxone reverses an opioid overdose in minutes. It's safe, simple, and can't hurt someone who isn't overdosing.

You don't carry it because you expect something to go wrong. You carry it because you'd want to be the one who was ready. 🫶

📍 Free at Teton County Health Department — no appointment required.
