UPDATE at 2:30PM: The mandatory evacuation order has now been lifted. All roads are open in that area and residents can safely return home.

UPDATE at 12:00PM: Pitt Street is open for traffic. Bright Ave and Golf Course remain closed.

UPDATE: Center Street, Mason Street, North Lane, East Lane and West Lane are clear to go back home. People on Pitt Street can walk to their homes. Bright Ave between Center and Pitt is still closed.

UPDATE: The gas leak was a result of construction in the area. Mandatory evacuations between Highway 88, Mission Boulevard, Center Street and Broadway are still in place.

PG&E estimates 2 hours for the repair, but there is no current ETA for when this order will be lifted. Updates will be given as more information is received.

📣 Due to a gas leak, mandatory evacuations are currently underway in Jackson at Pitt Street and Bright Ave. The Civic Center at 33 Broadway is open and ready to welcome those in need.
