Night 3 of Citizen’s Academy of our Fall Class is officially in the books!

We kicked off last night with a visit from Chairman Brown, who stopped by to welcome the class and speak with them about Butts County and the importance of citizen engagement. ⚖️ From there, the class learned about the Superior, Magistrate, and Probate Courts, along with the roles of the Tax Assessor’s Office and the Tax Commissioner’s Office.

We also toured the Administration Building and got a look at handwritten records from years ago, which gave the class a glimpse into how court records were once kept and just how much things have changed over time. 📖

Congratulations to J. Michael Brewer on an incredible 40 years with Butts County! 🥳

Over the last four decades, Michael has served Butts County in a number of roles, with each one becoming part of a career dedicated to our organization and the community we serve. Today, he continues that service as our Deputy County Manager, bringing with him years of knowledge, experience, and commitment to Butts County.

Forty years is an incredible milestone, and we are grateful for the many years Michael has dedicated to being a part of our team.

Yesterday was all about helping our employees Be Well, Live Well, & Serve Well!

We hosted our 1st Annual Butts County Employee Health Fair, giving our team an opportunity to step away from their desks and daily routines to focus on their health and wellness. Employees completed health checks, visited with vendors, picked up plenty of goodies, won door prizes, and even got moving with a little line dancing! 💃

We also kicked off our 6 for 6 Healthy Challenge, with employees committing to six healthy changes over the next six months. Small changes can add up to make a big difference!

Thank you to our employees, vendors, and everyone who helped make our first Health Fair such a great day! 🥳
