Our annual fishing rodeo is next Saturday starting at 9AM! This event is FREE and open to children ages 5-15! Prizes will be awarded for the Heaviest and Longest fish in each age group.

Thanks to our amazing sponsors at Wellpoint we are able to provide a variety of door prizes to give away to some lucky participants and our category winners!

Today we hosted a retirement party for our beloved Executive Director Tony Black. Mr.Black has been a vital part of the success of Jackson Parks and Recreation and the City of Jackson, TN - Government for over 30 YEARS 🎉

He has been an advocate for the youth, a leader in the community, and a friend to all that know him.

Although we hate to see him leave the department, we know that he will continue to do great things for the Jackson community.

Tickets sales are LIVE for the Jackson Parks annual Bowls for the Hungry charity event scheduled for July 18th from 5-8PM!! All proceeds will be used to help those in our community who face food insecurity. Looking forward to seeing you there!

SUMMER CAMP 2026 IS ALMOST HERE 🥳☀️ Our camp counselors are gearing up for an amazing summer, starting with today’s staff orientation!

Special thanks to the City of Jackson, TN - Government HR Department, Financial Empowerment,City of Jackson, TN - Police Department, City of Jackson, TN - Fire Department, and Leaders Credit Union for sharing valuable knowledge to help make this summer successful for our campers and to equip them with lessons they can use for the future.

Did you know that we have two public swimming pools in the city? Both pools are housed under Jackson, TN Parks and Rec and they will be opening very soon! Special thanks to our city Maintenance Department for preparing the pools for swimmers. Follow our Jackson, TN Parks & Rec page for updates.

Tomorrow is the last Firefly Night Hike of the Month! We hope to see you there!
