Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. 🇺🇸
Memorial Day is more than a long weekend. It’s a time to reflect on the courage, service, and selflessness of those who gave everything for our country. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.
Please take a moment today to remember our fallen heroes and keep their families in your thoughts.

This week, we recognize the men and women behind the badge who answer the call no matter the hour, weather, or situation. During National Police Week, Fruitland Fire Department would like to thank our law enforcement partners at the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff’s Office for everything you do to keep our communities safe.
Whether it’s working wrecks on the highway, late-night calls, traffic control in the rain, or showing up when things go sideways — we’re proud to work beside you. We may argue over who makes the better coffee at scenes, but when the tones drop, we all show up for the same reason: serving our community.
Stay safe, and thank you for your service, sacrifice, and partnership. 🚔🚒💙

đźš’ BOOT DRIVE ANNOUNCEMENT đźš’

Our district will be out in the community soon for our annual Boot Drive on April 28th and 30th. We will be at the intersections of US Highway 61 & State Highway 177 and US Highway 61 & Larch Ln, from 6:30am-8:30am and 3:00pm-6:00pm. We will be collecting donations and we’d love your help making a difference!

The incredible organization we like to support is Burns Recovered Midwest Childrens Burn Camp. They provide a safe, supportive place for young burn survivors to heal, grow, and connect with others who understand their journey. Camp gives these kids the chance to build confidence, form lifelong friendships, and just be kids again—without judgment.

Every dollar donated goes towards helping send children to camp, covering medical support, activities, and experiences that truly change lives.
When you see us out with our boots, please consider dropping in a donation. Your support directly impacts a child’s recovery and reminds them they’re not alone.

If you don't have cash and want to support this organization, we have a venmo account that can also receive donations! It is attached below:

Fruitland Fire was proud to host the Fruitland Classical Conversations students for their Egg Drop Event!

Students put their creativity and problem-solving skills to the test, designing unique contraptions to protect their eggs from a high drop. From parachutes to padded containers, the innovation on display was incredible!

We love opportunities like this to connect with our community, support hands-on learning, and maybe have a little fun along the way. Thank you to all the students, parents, and organizers who made this event such a success!

"Behind the Scenes"
We are pleased to introduce Chris Johnston, the President of our Board of Directors. With an impressive 30 years of volunteer service on the Board and 18 years as Board President, Chris has been instrumental in the growth and transformation of our fire district from a volunteer-based organization to a fully career-oriented fire district. Having spent his entire life in the Fruitland Fire District, Chris not only grew up in this community but also chose to raise his family here. His passion for the fire service began at a young age, inspired by his father, who served as a volunteer firefighter with Fruitland. In addition to his commitments with the Fire District and his full-time job, Chris enjoys time with his children and grandchildren, farming, and riding his Spyder motorcycle.
