That’s a WRAP on baseline exams in Kentucky! πŸŽ‰πŸ₯³πŸŽŠ

Last Wednesday marked the completion of baseline exams on our Mobile Exam Unit (MEU) in Danville. We have completed 776 total MEU exams across Boyle and Garrard Counties, and 739 across Perry and Breathitt Counties. Thanks to the overwhelming support from rural communities, the RURAL Study has officially examined 4,676 participants, surpassing our enrollment target.

Thank you to the thousands of participants who made this milestone possible – we couldn’t have done it without you!

Spending time outdoors is great for your health, but it is important to stay aware of tick bites, especially as tick activity is high across Kentucky right now. Ticks are commonly found in grassy, wooded, and brush-filled areas, and they can attach without being noticed. πŸ•·οΈ
Wearing long sleeves and using insect repellent can help reduce your risk. After spending time outside, take a few minutes to check your body, clothing, and pets, and consider showering soon after coming indoors. Staying aware and taking simple precautions can help you enjoy the outdoors safely. 🌿
