For 75 years, the Jackson Mills Volunteer Fire Company #1 has proudly served and protected our community with dedication, courage, and pride. Since 1951, generations of firefighters have answered the call day and night, standing ready to help our neighbors in times of emergency.

From our humble beginnings to the modern fire service of today, our members have remained committed to preserving the traditions of the fire company while continuing to move forward to meet the needs of our growing community.

As we celebrate our 75th Anniversary in 2026, we honor the past firefighters, officers, and supporters who helped build this organization, while recognizing the members who continue the mission today.

Thank you to the residents and surrounding communities for your continued support throughout the years. We look forward to celebrating this milestone together and continuing our tradition of service for generations to come.

On Tuesday, May 5, Jackson Township Fire District #4 responded to assist operations at a multiple-alarm residential structure fire in Freehold Township.

Crews operated on scene for several hours under challenging conditions. Operations included establishing the water supply operation in an area without municipal hydrants, flowing multiple handlines, forcing garage doors, and later transitioning into RIT operations for the remainder of the incident.

We would also like to thank Jackson Township Fire District #3 Station 55 for covering our district and protecting our residents while our crews operated at this incident.

🔥 Important Safety Reminder – Bonfire Permits for Lag B’Omer 🔥

The Jackson Fire Bureaus are now accepting permit applications for Lag B’Omer bonfires. If you’re planning to celebrate, please make safety your top priority.

✔️ Permits are required and must be submitted at least 7 days in advance
✔️ Bonfires must be no larger than 3 ft x 3 ft x 3 ft and burn for no more than 3 hours
✔️ Fires must be kept at least 25 feet from any structure
✔️ Only seasoned hardwood may be used
✔️ A responsible adult (18+) must supervise at all times
✔️ Approved extinguishing methods must be readily available (Garden Hose)

🚫 Do NOT:
• Leave fires unattended
• Dispose of hot ashes in trash cans

⚠️ Fires must be fully extinguished, and supervision must continue for at least 30 minutes after the fire is out.

Let’s work together to ensure a safe and enjoyable holiday for everyone. If weather conditions or state restrictions prohibit burning, permits may not be issued.
