Southaven, tonight is the night.

Mississippi’s redistricting hearing comes to DeSoto County at 6:00 p.m. The voting maps under consideration help determine which communities vote together, who represents them and how much political power our voices carry.

Do not leave the public record without our voices.

Black Mississippi cannot afford to find out after the decisions are made.

Voting maps could change. A new college funding formula could deepen old inequities. Kohen Wiley’s family is still waiting for answers. And MLBC is taking the work directly into churches and communities across the state.

Our people deserve the facts while decisions are still being shaped.

The MLBC Rundown, our new bulletin, puts the work, the stakes, and your next moves in one place.

Get informed. Send it to the family chat, church group, and community circle. Then show up.

Okolona showed up.

Thank you to everyone who joined the Mississippi Legislative Black Caucus for the first Protect Our Voice Legislative Town Hall.

Community members came together to hear from legislators, ask questions and make sure their voices were part of the conversation. The strong turnout showed why these opportunities matter.

We also thank Zion Springs MB Church for opening its doors and helping bring the community together.

Okolona started the conversation. Louisville, you’re next.
