Governor Reeves officially proclaimed today as Manufacturing Day in Mississippi!
We celebrated by partnering with Taylor Power Systems in Clinton to host students from the Vicksburg Warren Career & Technical Center for an inside look at the world of manufacturing. Students toured the facility, met with company leaders, and learned about the numerous career opportunities available at the company.
Manufacturing Day is about the future, and we hope these students were encouraged by the possibilities their future can have!

Thank you to Nissan Canton - Building Our Future for hosting students from Germantown High School and Madison Central High School for Manufacturing Day! The students were given a tour of the plant, participated in a question-and-answer session with Victor Taylor, the Vice President of Manufacturing, and completed a team-building exercise using VR headsets, where they had to work together to diffuse a bomb. It was a great visit, and we hope it inspires this group to seek career opportunities in manufacturing within our state!

“I want the people in this room to take pride in what you’ve built and how we’ve moved Mississippi forward.” - MMA President & CEO John McKay.

Today, the MMA Board of Directors voted to approve a resolution of dissolution, marking one of the final steps in our historic merger with the Mississippi Economic Council and BIPEC to form the Mississippi Business Alliance.

This decision marks a defining moment for an organization that has proudly served Mississippi’s manufacturers for over 70 years. None of this progress would have been possible without the steadfast support, vision, and leadership of our state’s manufacturing community.

As we move forward, we carry that legacy with us—committed to building an even stronger, united Mississippi together.
