Butts County Fire & Emergency Services – Fire Hydrant Maintenance Notice

Beginning June 1st, Butts County Fire & Emergency Services crews will be conducting fire hydrant maintenance throughout the county.

During this process, crews will inspect, operate, and maintain hydrants to ensure they are functioning properly and ready for use during fire emergencies. We will take steps to help minimize water discoloration; however, some temporary discoloration may still occur in certain areas.

This maintenance is an important part of keeping our community protected. When a fire occurs, properly operating hydrants are critical to providing the water needed to protect lives, homes, businesses, and property.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as our crews complete this important work.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to the Butts County School System for their continued partnership and support. The relationship between our agencies is extremely meaningful to us, and we greatly value the trust, cooperation, and shared commitment to keeping our students, staff, first responders, and community safe.

We also want to thank the departments and agencies that backfilled our fire stations with personnel while our crews trained. Your support allowed our personnel to participate in this important training while ensuring continued emergency coverage for the citizens and visitors of Butts County.

Today, Butts County Fire & Emergency Services pauses to remember and honor the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who gave their lives protecting the freedoms we hold dear.

Memorial Day is more than the beginning of summer. It is a solemn reminder that the freedoms we enjoy were paid for by those who never returned home.

We ask our community to join us in taking a moment today to remember the fallen, support their families, and reflect on the courage, service, and sacrifice that define this day.

From all of us at Butts County Fire & Emergency Services, we honor them, we remember them, and we are forever grateful.
