Today, our Moma turned 93 years old! ❤️

We kept the celebration just the way she likes it: family close by, a Burger King hamburger with extra onions, and Andraé Crouch playing while we sang together.

Moma has always loved children, music, and being surrounded by family. That is what brings her joy.

I also wore my Daddy pin today as a little reminder of the man who loved her and shared almost 75 years of life with her.

Happy 93rd Birthday, Moma! We love you and thank God for another year with you. ❤️

The Alleane Currie Monthly Luncheon is starting back up, and we’re excited to gather around the table again for good food, fellowship, and conversation. We’ve missed you! We’re kicking off the season with Council President Vernon W. Hartley Sr., President of the Jackson City Council and Ward 5 Councilman. A longtime West Jackson resident, Council President Hartley has spent his career serving our city and community, including 30 years of service in the United States Air Force Reserve.
Come hear his story, his vision for Ward 5 and Jackson, and help us give our Council President a warm Perkins Foundation welcome!

Tonight is our final Community Night of the summer, and we really hope you’ll join us. ❤️

It’s hard to believe we’ve reached the last one.

Over the past several weeks, we’ve shared meals, laughed around the tables, watched children play, met new friends, and been reminded that God is still bringing people together in beautiful ways. Tonight, we want to celebrate all of that.

We’ll be recognizing our amazing youth, junior interns, interns, and volunteers who gave so much of themselves this summer. Watching them grow, serve, and use their gifts has been a blessing, and we’re grateful for everything God has done in and through them.

Whether you’ve been with us every Thursday or you’ve been saying, “I’ve been meaning to come,” this is your invitation. We’d love to see you. Come enjoy a meal cooked with love, spend time with good people, and celebrate with us.

Today we celebrated you, and it reminded me how grateful we are to call you our sister. You have been a steady source of faith, strength, wisdom, and love through every season. Thank you for the way you care for our family, serve others so faithfully, and always show up when it matters most.

Our prayer is that this next year is filled with God’s peace, good health, laughter, and joy. You are deeply loved, and today we celebrate the incredible gift you are to all of us.
