NEW LOCATION FOR THE ALZEHEIMER'S WALK!

Good morning MyRide friends! I am reaching out to let everyone know about the West TN Regional Alzheimer's TN walk on Saturday, June 7 at Liberty Park in Jackson! Our Southwest TN Development District team (SWTDD POWER WALKERS) is raising money for Alzheimer's in hopes that one day Alzheimer's will only be a memory and not a reality. My son, Ross, and I will be walking in memory of my husband's grandmother and my Aunt Jean and in honor of another very close family member, as well as others in our lives who have been touched by dementia. There will be lots of things going on at the walk, including Kids Zone (starts at 9:00), an awesome concert on the lawn at 9:30 am, with Caleb and Leann (see the Alzheimer's West TN website for details), The Great DUCK Hunt, Cake Walk, etc. Come and join us for a great day and a very worthy cause!! MYRIDE WEST TN HAS A NEW VOLUNTEER DRIVER!!! MyRide in Henderson County is excited to welcome Debra Hodges to our wonderful team of volunteers. Debra completed her new volunteer training yesterday and is excited to begin taking rides for older adults in Henderson County who need help getting to local medical appointments and making other local essential trips, AND, SHE GETS TO PICK WHICH RIDES SHE DOES AND WHEN SHE DOES THEM. If you see this sweet lady, give her a "high-five" for jumping in where she saw a need, for seniors in our community!!

We have MyRide programs in Chester, Henderson, McNairy and Madison counties. Please reach out if you would like more information about becoming a volunteer. There is NO PRESSURE and being a MyRide volunteer is an extremely rewarding experience. YOU, TOO, CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE AND ENHANCE A SENIOR'S LIFE!
