🚨⚖️ A DOMESTIC VIOLENCE JUDGE CANDIDATE. A DOCUMENTED POLICE REPORT. QUESTIONS VOTERS DESERVE TO ASK. ⚖️🚨

When a candidate seeks judicial office involving domestic violence cases, transparency matters.

Public records concerning George Dwelle Lyons document a reported domestic incident on June 5, 2010, in Jackson County.

According to the police report:
📄 The incident involved a reported domestic assault.
📄 The report describes allegations of property damage and a physical confrontation.
📄 Page 4 states that a special prosecutor in Eaton County issued charges that included one count of domestic violence, along with charges of interfering with electronic communications and malicious destruction of property.

“Republican state Rep. Kathy Schmaltz of Jackson is seeking a third term in the Michigan House but faces some headwinds with the current national attitude toward Republicans and a challenge from Democrat Jan Maino.
In 2024, Schmaltz won the district as an incumbent, with Trump at the top of the ticket, by roughly 4 percentage points over Jackson Mayor Daniel Mahoney. Maino is a mental health therapist and president of the East Jackson School Board. Schmaltz worked for WILX-TV in Lansing before serving in the Legislature.
Both parties have been spending heavily on TV ads aimed at Jackson-area viewers. The 46th District could be the tipping point for Democrats to swing the majority, as they need to flip four seats to take control. Democrats believe Maino is their highest quality candidate in the district in many cycles.”
