Madison the City has once again been recognized as the Best Place to Live in Mississippi. Niche.com, which helps students, parents, and families find schools, neighborhoods, and places to live that are right for them, graded the cities in Mississippi and Madison came out on top with an overall grade of A+.
Niche has ranked the best places to live in the U.S. based on data from the FBI, U.S. Census, Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Department of Education and more. Each city got letter grades on factors that affect quality of life, like jobs, public schools, health, and how family-friendly a community is. Madison Public Schools scored A+ as did the Good for Families category. Housing and the Crime and Safety categories received A grades.
Niche has also ranked Madison #1 in statistics ranking Best Places to Buy a House in Mississippi and Best Places to Raise a Family in Mississippi.

Madison, Mississippi--FARMERS MARKET LOCATION CHANGE--
Due to construction in the green space by the Caboose, the June 24 Madison Farmers Market will instead take place at LIBERTY PARK, near the playground.

Only the location has changed. We will have:
*the same great vendors of local produce, meat, seafood, hummus, baked goods, home-made candies, honey, gifts
*Mr. Robert Pickenpaugh, master potter, will again teach the youngsters how to make their own clay medallions, and his first student will be our own Mayor Mary Hawkins Butler
*Jay Wadsworth will provide live music
*Mickey and Minnie will greet the younger set
*the Party Pets animals will be ready for lots of loving
*AHA Bistro will be serving delicious Cajun food with an Asian twist, plus burgers, hot dogs, and nachos
*there will be lots of games and giveaways.
