🩺🔴 September is Sepsis Awareness Month
Sepsis is the body’s extreme response to an infection — and it’s a life-threatening medical emergency.
👉 Every year, at least 1.7 million adults in the U.S. develop sepsis.
👉 Nearly 350,000 die — more than from breast cancer, prostate cancer, and opioid overdoses combined.
Know the signs. Act fast.
Think TIME ⏰:
Temperature – higher or lower than normal
Infection – signs or history of infection
Mental decline – confused, sleepy, difficult to rouse
Extremely ill – severe pain, short of breath, “I feel like I might die”
⚠️ Sepsis can happen to anyone. If you suspect it, seek emergency care immediately.
Awareness saves lives.
