Red Flag Warning today!

Today we are under a red flag warning, which means Lower Valley Energy has placed our electrical system on high alert due to dangerous weather conditions that significantly increase wildfire risk. During these critical periods, we temporarily disable our automatic recloser devices that normally restore power quickly after minor interruptions, because these devices could potentially spark a wildfire when winds, temperature, and humidity reach dangerous levels. This heightened safety protocol means you may experience more power blinks, longer outages, or even preventive power shutoffs in high-risk areas, as we must manually inspect and verify the safety of our power grid before restoring electricity rather than relying on automatic restoration. We need your help as cooperative members to report any concerning conditions like trees near power lines or flashes from electrical equipment, and while we understand these power interruptions are inconvenient, your safety and community protection are our absolute top priorities during these dangerous weather events.

Teton County and the surrounding public lands have moved into Very High Fire Danger. This means fires can easily ignite, will spread rapidly and can be difficult to control. Outdoor burning is not recommended under Very High fire danger.
