Together, we're making energy-saving solutions more accessible and affordable.

Water heating is the second-largest energy load in most homes, right behind heating. A heat pump water heater cuts it dramatically. It almost never reaches the households who need those savings most, because the people paying those bills usually aren't the ones who own the building.

That's what we're hoping to change with our affordable housing heat pump water heater program that brings this tech into affordable homes here in Teton County.
We identify energy challenges, turn ideas into projects, and find the resources to make them happen. This one came together from several funding sources at once, including grant support from the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole. None of those pieces would have added up on their own.

Local solutions strengthen our community today and build resilience for the future — lower bills for families living here, and less strain on the system for everyone else.

Your support helps local families save energy, lower utility bills, and improve comfort. Here’s what that looks like at one Teton County home.
Through ECW and LVE’s loan program, the owner of a 50-year-old house replaced drafty windows and doors and insulated the crawl space. The improvements keep the home cooler in summer, cozier in winter, and help lower electricity bills.
They also help the owner keep the home rented to local workers—currently a Ski Club coach and his partner, a local social worker.

As the tenants put it: “We didn’t realize how drafty it was before!”
It’s one example of how energy improvements can benefit residents, property owners, and our broader community.

Members in districts 1, 2, & 7 will begin receiving your paper ballots in the mail this week for the 2026 Lower Valley Energy Board of Directors election.

For added convenience, online voting is now open through your SmartHub account or through an email link you received on June 4. Simply click on the email link or log in to the SmartHub app or online portal to review the candidates and cast your vote electronically.

This year’s election includes Board Director seats for:

• District 1
• District 2
• District 7
• District 6 - Director Max Moran was uncontested.
