Keep an eye on the sky today! Take that umbrella with you….you never know if you may need it!☔️

Severe weather chances will remain on the medium side of things today into tonight across the Lower Peninsula. Multiple rounds of cells and line segments are modeled to move across the state at any point in time between noon today, and 8 am Friday. Damaging winds over 60 mph, large hail 1.5"+, and a tornado or two are possible, along with minor flash flooding. Severe weather is not anticipated for everyone, but a good chunk of us should get some decent rainfall.

Our final call severe weather outlook maps will be released around 8 am here on September 3rd, 2026. Stay tuned.

When you take pride in your work, it shows.

Yesterday, B-shift crews responded to a residential structure fire in the 400 block of W. High St. on the cities southside. Through the smoke, heat and hard work, these photos capture something we get to see everyday. Firefighters who genuinely care about the community they serve and their job.

A special note is our group of new hires, "probies" that are currently in the middle of their 40 hr orientation week were able to gear up and learn what is going to be expected of them not only this week and their "probie" year but, for the rest of their careers.
