Madison County Emergency Communications District - 911

Madison County Emergency Communications District - 911 The Board controls the management of the agency and approves policies for the operations of the District.

The Madison County Emergency Communications District, established by referendum in 1987, is a municipality governed by a nine (9) member Board of Directors appointed by the Madison County Mayor and must follow the policies of the State of Tennessee Emergency Communications Board. The Madison County Emergency Communications District assigns all new residential and commercial addresses within Jackso

n / Madison County. The District also approves all new street names to avoid duplication throughout the county. When you dial 9-1-1 from a landline telephone, your address appears on the screen in front of the dispatcher. An incorrect address can delay emergency response time, so a correct address is vital information. To improve emergency response time, please post your correct address on your mailbox or somewhere in front of your home or business, where an emergency responder can easily see it. If you have a question or concern regarding your correct address, please feel free to contact our office at (731) 423-3911 between the hours of 8:00am and 4:00pm, Monday through Friday. Currently, the Madison County Emergency Communications District levies a service charge of $1.50 per device that can contact 911. The $1.50 service charge is mandated by the State of Tennessee and cannot be increased or decreased without legislative action. This money is used by the District to maintain and upgrade 911 dispatch equipment. It is our goal to maintain state of the art dispatch equipment in all of our dispatch facilities to enable us to serve the citizens of Jackson / Madison County with the best 911 system available.
