🏈 Fall 2026 Youth Football Registration is Open! 🏈

The City of Jackson Parks and Recreation Department, in cooperation with Jackson Public Schools, is offering youth football opportunities for students in Kindergarten through 6th grade this fall!

Divisions include K–2nd Grade Flag Football, 3rd/4th Grade Instructional Tackle Football, and 5th/6th Grade Tackle Football.

📍 Games: Jackson High School Withington Stadium
📍 Practices: Ella Sharp Park, across from Ella Sharp Mini Golf
💲 League fees are covered by the Shaun C. Kelley Scholarship Fund!

Registration deadlines vary by division, and space is limited, so families are encouraged to register soon.

🏓 NEW PROGRAM — Youth Instructional Pickleball! 🏓

Jackson Public Schools is excited to partner with the City of Jackson Parks and Recreation Department, Crossroads Pickleball, and the Spring Arbor University Pickleball Team to offer a new instructional pickleball program for students in 5th–8th grade!

📅 Sundays, September 13–October 4
📍 Crossroads Pickleball Courts at Keeley Park
💲 $20 for JPS students | $25 for students outside JPS

Division Times:
• 5th & 6th Grade: 3:00–4:30 PM
• 7th & 8th Grade: 4:30–6:00 PM

📌 Registration deadline: September 11 or until divisions are full.

No experience? No problem! This is a great opportunity for students to learn the game, build skills, stay active, and have fun.

Divisions include:

4-Year-Old COED NEW!

1st & 2nd Grade Girls and Boys
3rd & 4th Grade Girls and Boys
5th & 6th Grade Girls and Boys
Middle School COED

📅 Games: Saturdays, September 19–October 24
⏰ Games scheduled between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM
📍 Ella Sharp Park Soccer Fields

👕 Fee includes a jersey

📣 Calling all future cheerleaders! 📣

The City of Jackson Parks and Recreation Department, in cooperation with Jackson Public Schools, is offering a Youth Cheer League for students in 1st–6th grade!

Cheerleaders will practice at Ella Sharp Park and cheer at games held at Jackson High School’s Withington Stadium. Divisions are available for 1st/2nd grade, 3rd/4th grade, and 5th/6th grade.

📅 Kickoff dates begin in September
💲 $20 for JPS students | $25 for students outside JPS
👕 Fee includes a shirt
📍 Games at Withington Stadium

What a great way to kick off the 2026–2027 school year! 🧡🖤

Today, we welcomed our incredible JPS staff back with our annual Welcome Back Breakfast at American 1 Credit Union Event Center. It was wonderful to have our JPS family together again as we get ready to welcome students back to our classrooms.

We are thankful for the dedication, energy, and heart our staff brings to Jackson Public Schools every day. A huge thank you to everyone who helped make today’s event possible and helped us start the year on such a positive note!

A special thank you to our inspiring guest speaker, Twana Young, Ph.D., Vice President of Academic Design, Mathematics at McGraw Hill, for sharing her time, insight, and message with our JPS team.

We are thankful, energized, and excited about all that lies ahead!
