Love books? Volunteer Mississippi is the official sponsor for volunteers for the Mississippi Book Festival, and we need volunteers to help bring this literary celebration to life!

Volunteer spots are available now through the festival, with plenty of time slots to fit your schedule. Sign up for a shift, and you’ll receive a t-shirt and lanyard, which doubles as a ticket to the Hot Fest Cool Down at Hal and Mal’s Saturday night.

Volunteers under 18 are welcome, as long as they’re accompanied by an adult.

Volunteer Mississippi is now accepting applications for our FY 2026-2027 Volunteer and Civic Engagement Grants.

-Awards range from $2,500 to $10,000

-Applications due by 5 pm CT on September 30, 2026 (or until all available funds have been awarded)

-Open to 501(c)(3) nonprofits and public entities in good standing
