Due to dust control work, Community Recycling bins will be temporarily moved to the North side of the parking lot by Flat Creek Drive and W. Karns Ave. beginning Wednesday, June 10th until approximately Friday, June 12th.

🚧 FAIRGROUNDS PARKING LOT NOTICE 🚧

Just a heads up—we'll be treating the fairgrounds parking lots for dust control on June 8 and June 11.

If possible, we'd really appreciate it if folks could avoid driving through the parking lots on those days. The magnesium chloride treatment does a great job of keeping dust down, but it can be tough on vehicles, and we'd rather help you avoid the mess and potential wear.

We're doing this work to improve conditions around the fairgrounds and appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation while we get it done.

Thanks for helping us keep the dust down and the fairgrounds looking their best! 🚜💨

That's a lot of toxic, flammable and harmful materials! Will 2026 numbers be even higher?

Disposing of HHW safely isn't always the easiest thing to do, but each year Jacksonites step up to do the right thing by taking advantage of Teton County's HHW disposal appointments. Thanks , Brinson Foundation and for helping subsidize this program to make public costs more affordable.

We’ve been making videos! 🎥

You told us, composting partners, that simple staff training materials would help make food waste sorting easier — so we listened and acquired grant funding to make it happen.

Chris Kitchen and the team at KGB Productions have been capturing fantastic footage for new compost training videos, with help from our kitchen composting pro partners at Jackson Lake Lodge (Grand Teton Lodge Company) and Bistro Catering.

We’re so grateful for their time, expertise, and willingness to help us make composting clearer, easier, and more successful across Teton County. With Arbor Works Tree Service and Teton County, Wyoming

Why the gear? Household hazardous waste takes special handling.

Our HHW team safely sorts and manages materials like oil-based stain, toxic cleaners, automotive fluids, pesticides, corrosive substances and more — items that should not go in the regular trash or down the drain.

Have HHW at home? Please schedule an appointment through our website: TetonCountyWY.gov/HHW. Appointments are available two days a month through October.

Thanks for helping keep Teton County's sanitation workers and the environment safe.

We loved hosting several student tours this spring and showing young recyclers what happens after materials arrive at the Recycling Center.

From sorting and baling to learning what recyclables become in their next lives, these visits are a great reminder that the Road to Zero Waste starts with curiosity.

Thanks to the students, teachers, and chaperones who came to learn with us! ♻️

Here's an opportunity to dispose of your expired bear spray for FREE (and replace it for the year). If you don't make it to the Teton County Library event, the Recycling Center collects bear spray year-round for $2 each to help offset the cost of disposal. Visit TetonCountyWY.gov/Recycle for more info.

Watching paint dry isn’t usually exciting, but in this case, it’s exactly what you should do (for WATER-BASED paints and stains).

Latex and water-based paints do not go to the Household Hazardous Waste Facility. If the label says cleanup is with soap and water, let it dry out, then throw it in the trash once it’s solid.

OIL-BASED paints, stains, and thinners are toxic to the environment and DO need to come to HHW by appointment. Visit TetonCountyWY.gov/HHW to learn more.

As you gather with friends and family this Memorial Day weekend, do it with a little red, white, blue… and green.

Before you toss everything in one bag, remember:
♻️ Recycle cans, bottles, jars, corrugated cardboard, and stretchy plastic bags.
🍎 Compost food scraps.
🗑️ Trash foam, napkins and other non-recyclables.

Happy Memorial Day weekend, and thanks for helping keep our holiday weekends a little less wasteful.

The Teton County Trash Transfer Station and Recycling Center will be closed to the public on Monday, May 25th for the Memorial Day holiday.

Regular hours will resume on Tuesday, May 26th.

As always, outdoor recycling bins at the Recycling Center and community recycling sites are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If bins are full, please do not leave recyclables on the ground. Try a different community site or hold them until bins can be emptied the following business day. Please be considerate and flatten all cardboard. Thank you for recycling!
