🌞 Making Summer Bigger, Brighter, and Safer for Local Youth! 🌞

At Midwest Youth Services, we often say that it takes a community to make a difference and this summer is a perfect example of that.

Thanks to a generous donation from the Jim Waltrip Golf Outing, we have been able to do so much more for the youth and families we serve. These funds in part helped us expand our reach.

🎨 Host our Colors for a Cause Color Run
🚌 Provide additional Friday Funday field trips for local kids
☀️ Purchase sunscreen and activity materials to keep youth safe, healthy, and engaged throughout the summer
🛏️ Expand our Youth Emergency Shelter with additional bedrooms and bed space for youth in crisis who need a safe place to stay while long-term housing options are arranged

These opportunities and improvements make a real difference in the lives of local youth. Without community support and donations like these, our ability to expand services and create additional opportunities is often limited.

We would like to extend a special thank you to Kelley Waltrip, Jim's wife. It was a pleasure to connect with her, share more about our services, and show how the legacy of the Jim Waltrip Golf Outing continues to positively impact youth throughout our community.

🎉 Colors for a Cause 2026 🎉

That’s a wrap…

What an incredible day we had at Colors for a Cause this past Saturday! We were thrilled with the amazing turnout and so grateful to see our community come together for a day filled with color, laughter, and purpose.

One of the best parts of the event was watching families and friends make memories together while supporting a cause that means so much to so many. From the starting line to the final splash of color, the energy, smiles, and excitement were truly inspiring.

We have so much to be thankful for. To our participants, volunteers, sponsors, supporters, and everyone who helped make this event a success….. THAT YOU! Your enthusiasm and commitment to youth advocacy reminds us why events like this are so important.

NEW to Friday Funday this summer… Scottie’s Fun Spot in Quincy!

We are excited to add a brand new location to our Summer 2026 lineup! Youth will spend the day enjoying arcade games, attractions, food, and FUN at Scottie’s Fun Spot in Quincy, IL! This event is open to Morgan County youth ages 11–17 and is completely FREE through Friday Funday with MYS! ☀️

💪 “Stronger Every Day” with Carriage House Fitness is fast approaching! Don't forget to sign up, we still have seats available!!

📅Going on vacation? Busy summer schedule? Think you might miss a week? You can still sign up for our Stronger Every Day fitness series with Carriage House Fitness!

While we encourage youth to attend all 5 sessions to get the full experience, we completely understand that summers are busy. Youth do not have to attend every session to participate, learn, grow, and be successful in the program.

Each week focuses on different fitness and nutrition topics, so youth can jump in and benefit no matter where they start. Whether they're brand new to fitness or already involved in sports, coaches will meet them where they're at and help them build confidence, knowledge, and healthy habits.

Registration will remain open throughout the series, so there's still time to join us! Open to youth entering grades 8–12 (ages 13–17)

“Stronger Every Day” with Carriage House Fitness is fast approaching! Don't forget to sign up, we still have seats available!!

We’ve had a few people ask about about what levels of fitness and knowledge is needed for this program. This series was intentionally designed for ALL fitness levels.

Whether your youth:
🏋 has never stepped foot in a gym
🏃 plays school sports year-round
💥 already works out regularly
🤷 just wants to learn more about fitness and nutrition
…there is a place for them here!

The coaches at Carriage House Fitness will meet youth where they are at and adjust workouts and movements to fit individual skill levels and experience.
- No experience? GREAT. They will help build confidence and teach the basic skills safely.
- Years of experience already? AWESOME. Coaches can build on that knowledge and help sharpen technique and overall fitness habits.

This program is about learning, growing, moving, and having fun together in a supportive environment.
📍Open to youth entering grades 8–12 (ages 13–17)
