Neighborhood Improvement Services team members, City Recreation staff and citizens helped out with the Spring Refresh Project this morning as part of Community Development Week. This initiative helps those neighbors who need assistance to clean up their yards, mow, and trim. Two homes in Jacksonville got this special treatment today.

Neighborhood Improvement Services also provides affordable housing information and offers homebuyer education and assistance, rehabilitation and demolition assistance.

We are just about through with our Monday Drive up Distribution, there are still about 30 boxes left to had out. If you or anyone you know is in need then we are out here ready to serve!

Food insecurity continues to impact many families right here in Onslow County, especially families with young children. At the New River YMCA, we are committed to being part of the solution through programs that ensure youth have consistent access to nutritious food.

Join us this week for our upcoming Food Market. Thursday, March 26th at 2:00 PM. These efforts help bridge the gap for families who need it most, providing fresh, healthy food and support to our community’s children.

In our partnership with Southern Touch Painting, we are thrilled to announce the Compassion in Motion Initiative, featuring our Community Compassion Totes! 💓
We have pre-filled these totes with essential hygiene items, but we need your help to get them across the finish line. 🏁
There are so many ways you can contribute! Whether donating items, writing an encouraging note, 👝 or picking up a tote from our office to keep in your car to help us reach those in need! Eastern Carolina Human Services Agency, Inc. has received official notice from the NC Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Economic Opportunity instructing our Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) to be discontinued effective immediately.

This order was placed as a result of the lapse in federal funding following the government shutdown. This suspension of funding is not related to ECHSA's performance or compliance and is instead a statewide concern.

This order is in effect until further notice. We will continue to communicate with our program participant, partners, and community as more information becomes available. As always, donations are welcome. Thank you!
