Centrally located to four neighboring counties, each with a unique flavor and appeal, Jacksonville offers a world of locations and production value at your fingertips. The Film & Television Office assists local and visiting productions with facilitating permits, provides pre

liminary location scouting and engages the local workforce and vendor resources. The Film Office serves as the liaison between the city, production company, and the local film community. The Film & Television Office has a database of qualified technical staff and support services in the Jacksonville area and publishes an annual Film & Television Production Guide that provides local crew listings, technical support information and local soundstage and facility availability. The production guide is free to all people considering doing business in the Jacksonville area.

Join us for an evening screening of the historic silent film “The Flying Ace” accompanied by the Jacksonville Symphony.
 
The film will be paired with a newly commissioned orchestral score on Saturday, November 14. This event will take place at the Jacoby Symphony Hall located in the Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts at 7:30 pm.
 
Norman Studios released “The Flying Ace” in 1926, and it is their only feature-length film that has survived over the years. Now, 100 years later, the Jacksonville Symphony will be giving the film new life with a score that was written by a team of six leading composers.

Join us to celebrate Jacksonville’s growing film community!

On Monday, July 27, the City of Jacksonville will officially recognize “LOL JAX Film Festival Day”. This will take place at The Jessie from 11 am to 12 pm. This event is free to attend, and no tickets are required.

The fun continues with the LOL JAX Film Festival at WJCT Studios on Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2. The festival will highlight an exciting lineup of films and the people behind them.

City of Jacksonville Film & Television Office and MOCA Jacksonville present IndieJAX: An Independent Filmmaker Screening Series networking/reception starts at 6 PM and Screenings start at 7 PM, followed by a filmmaker Q&A session on Wednesday, August 19th at MOCA.

Enjoy concessions from the MOCA bar and Setlan Coffee Co. The museum is open extended hours from 5-9 pm to explore the galleries before or after the films.

Spectrum Jacksonville shared some behind-the-scenes photos on location of an upcoming documentary, ‘A Year and a Day’.

This documentary will share the story of Gentell, the largest vertically integrated wound care company in the world, and the organization’s founder and CEO, David Navazio’s resilience.

Navazio sat down for his interview shoot on Tuesday, July 14, and a few other final interviews wrapped up on Monday, July 13.

“The Fifth Step”, a new play written by David Ireland, is screening at WJCT Studios on Tuesday, July 15. Don’t miss your chance to experience theatre on the big screen.
 
The event will screen a recording of the play, filmed live from on London’s West End and directed by Finn den Hertog. This play stars Olivier Award winner Jack Lowden along with Emmy and BAFTA winner Martin Freeman.
 
It is the story of an unlikely pair bonding over the 12-step program of Alcoholics Anonymous and the struggles one of them faces upon reaching step five.
 
Doors open at 6:30 pm and the screening begins at 7:00 pm.
