THANK YOU to Reynolds Consumer Products, Share the Spirit, and the Jacksonville Lions Club for all that you have done to help get District #117 students off to a great start for the 2026-27 school year!!!

Jacksonville has the BEST community partners!!! Reynolds provides hundreds of Hefty Bags for the schools to use, Share the Spirit graciously provides our shoe closet with many pairs of shoes to help us meet that need, and the Jacksonville Lions Club gives of their time and energy to organize the annual school supply drive.

THANK YOU also to Walmart Store #200 for providing the venue for the school supply drive and making it so easy for generous citizens to shop!! And THANK YOU to the Jacksonville community for all of the support you provided in purchasing school supplies. Each school has received boxes of supplies to distribute to students who need them to start school, and we have more to send after school is underway thanks to everyone's wonderful contributions.

We are truly blessed to live in such a terrific community!!!

The Jacksonville Public Schools Foundation and LLCC Western Region Education Center have partnered to offer a new certificate program in Industrial Maintenance. JHS students enrolling in this program during their senior year will have the opportunity to do so with all tuition and fees being paid for by the JPSF.

What does an Industrial Maintenance Technician actually do?

Think of them as the problem-solvers behind the scenes—keeping machines, systems, and entire facilities running.

-Fix machines when something goes wrong

-Perform routine maintenance to prevent breakdowns

-Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues

-Use tools, sensors, and even computers to diagnose problems

It’s a career where you’re always learning and always doing! Our NEW Industrial Technologies program starts August 24 and registration is open now. Funding for Jacksonville High School students who participate will be covered by LLCC and the Jacksonville Public
Schools Foundation!

THANK YOU to the Jacksonville Area Chamber of Commerce for the wonderful recognition provided to the Jacksonville Public Schools Foundation at last evening's annual meeting of being selected as the Not-for-Profit Business of the Year. I was honored to accept the award for the JPSF and to thank all of the individuals who have made our work possible for the past 40 years. April and I are so grateful for the dedication of the JPSF Board of Directors led by President Ginny Fanning and Vice President Jane Hadden, for the stalwart work of both Secretary Helen Baldwin and Treasurer Joy French Becker who have steadfastly served the JPSF in these roles since 1986, for the partnership we have with District #117, and for the loyal support of the entire Jacksonville community who have made our work possible.

We celebrate our Crimson Jubilee this year, and this award couldn't have come at a more meaningful time. Here's to the next 40 years!

The Corner Deli is a very special place - the JPSF Office Manager, April Doerr, has two great sons who work there. Thanks to Logan and Braden Doerr for all of the great food that helped to draw in the community.
