Halifax Will Host Two Senior Meals During October
When: Oct 17, 2025, 11:30 AM to 1 PM
Where: 20 Brook
On October 17th and October 31st, volunteers will serve Senior Meals at the Halifax Community Hall. On October 17th, the menu will feature a choice of roast lamb with mint jelly or roast pork with applesauce, pea salad, roasted potatoes, vegetables, cheese bread, and dessert. Halifax will host a second Senior Meals in October due to the hiatus in the Jacksonville Senior Meal while the Whitingham Town Office is closed. This meal, on Friday, October 31st, will be a Halloween celebration featuring pumpkin soup, fried chicken, potatoes, pickled beets, green beans, roasted corn, and apple crisp with ice cream. We hope that all guests will wear Halloween costumes to make this special event even more festive. For both meals, arrive around 11:30 a.m. for a convivial gathering and maybe a starter course. The main meal will be served at noon. A suggested $4 donation ($5 for those younger than 60 years old) will help to support these events. The historic Hall, located at 20 Brook Road in West Halifax, is wheelchair-accessible, including an accessible bathroom.
