JAXPORT welcomed leadership from the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office Patrol and Operations Divisions today.

The group received an overview of port operations and toured Blount Island to see firsthand the movement of containers and vehicles that support jobs and economic activity across Florida and the Southeast.

The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office is one of many law enforcement partners that stand ready to provide mutual aid in support of port safety and security. We appreciate their partnership and service to Northeast Florida.

JAXPORT supports state-led St. Johns River conservation initiative 🐠

JAXPORT is proud to join Fish & Wildlife Foundation of Florida and MyFWC Florida Fish and Wildlife in planting three acres of eelgrass in Lake George. The area was identified by FWC biologists as the most suitable location to maximize the ecological benefit of broader aquatic vegetation recovery efforts across the river basin.

Submerged aquatic vegetation such as eelgrass plays an important role in river ecosystems, providing habitat, food and shelter for wildlife.

“A single acre of submerged aquatic vegetation can support tens of thousands of fish and millions of invertebrates, providing essential habitat for growth and reproduction,” Nick Wiley, FWFF Executive Director said.
