The Augustus Ayers mansion, circa 1857, located at 876 West State Street in Jacksonville, Illinois, is a premier example of the Italianate style of architecture. Ayers and Co., founded in 1852 and the city’s oldest bank. The Ayers mansion is one of principal buildings in the Jacksonville Historic District.
