The Moving Jacksonville Forward committee will meet on Thursday, May 8 on the second floor of the Jacksonville Municipal Building, located at 200 West Douglas Avenue, at 6PM.
Topics include a presentation by McKenna Servis about a walking tour of the JDC Grounds; the committee obtaining 501(c)3 status; approval of a door knocker design; and upcoming meeting times and locations. There will also be discussion about previously discussed business.
If you cannot attend in person, you can attend via Zoom. Please mute your microphone during the meeting until you are called upon if you would like to address the committee during public comment.

Exciting news! In effort to unified under one umbrella, Ben Cox at Moving Jacksonville Forward will be merging this page under the group, Moving Jacksonville Forward.

Moving Jacksonville Forward is a community action/planning group that has organized to tackle Jacksonvilles vulnerable properties. Their Mission is similar to the principles I had in mind when I started this page/group.

I’m excited to see the good work Moving Jacksonville Forward is planning.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

We had some hard working people show up today and I am sooo grateful! We were able to clean up trash, overgrowth, clear & edge sidewalks and rebuild a retaining wall.

We have a few other areas we’d like to get to this year and will need more volunteers! We’d love to have you! Date TBA!

Ever drive through the older historic neighborhoods in town and just want to get your hands on it to clean it up?! Just me?! Surely not!

Here is your chance! We need volunteers tomorrow 1:00 meeting at 405 N Church. The plan is to clear grass covered sidewalks, pick up trash (we have access to a free dumpster!), and clear brush/bushes.

The more volunteers we have, the more impact we can make!

We will be focusing on picking up trash, pulling weeds and clearing overgrown sidewalks on N Church & the sidewalks around Early Years (Jordan & Fayette st).

Bring gloves and any tools that may be useful. I am working on getting extra tools, trash bags etc.
