Tonight, we hosted our second Community Evacuation Forum here in Jacksonville. We had over 80 people attend. Thank you to our partners, Jacksonville CERT- Oregon, Jacksonville Oregon Police, & Jackson County Emergency Management for helping make this event the huge success that it was. The fire danger level will be “Low” (green) and the Industrial Fire Precaution Level (IFPL) will be I (one).

A 271‑acre prescribed underburn is scheduled in the Applegate this Friday and Saturday. Smoke will be highly visible throughout the Applegate Valley and Rogue Valley, especially near Ruch, Hwy 238, and Jacksonville.

🔥Community Wildfire Preparedness Day Success🔥

Thank you to everyone who came out to our Wildfire Preparedness Day!

Community members showed up in a big way-clearing branches, leaves, and other flammable materials to help reduce wildfire risk and create safer, more defensible spaces around their homes.

Your effort makes a real difference. Every load dropped off is a step toward a more fire-resilient community.

We appreciate everyone who participated and helped spread the word.

Mark your calendars! We are 6 weeks away from Jacksonville's Wildfire Community Preparedness Day. This event will be taking place 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮, 𝟵𝗮𝗺-𝗻𝗼𝗼𝗻, 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗼𝘁. We are continuing with the self-serve format - there will not be a chipper available at this event.

Jacksonville Fire Department Awarded $35,000
Wildfire Season Staffing Grant

The Jacksonville Fire Department is proud to announce it has once again been awarded the Wildfire Season Staffing Grant from the Oregon State Fire Marshal, receiving $35,000 in funding. This vital support will allow the department to add three seasonal firefighters for the upcoming fire season, enhancing our capacity to protect the community during peak wildfire months.

We're incredibly grateful for the continued support from the Oregon State Fire Marshal’s Office. These additional personnel make a real difference in our ability to respond quickly and effectively during wildfire season.
