Happy birthday MAG 26

04/23/2019

From the desk of Col Christopher Boniface (MAG 26) and Col Peter McArdie (VMX1)

There is a deep regret to announce that Marine Operational Test and Evaluation One
(VMX-1) lost Lieutenant Colonel Brett Hart last week. We will celebrate
Lieutenant Colonel Brett Hart's life and 30 years of honorable and faithful
service at a memorial service to be held at the MCAS Yuma Memorial Chapel.
The service will be held at 1100, 26 April 2019. The uniform for military
personnel will be Blue Dress "D." Civilian attire is business casual.

I respectfully request that you give consideration to allow time off for
those Marines and sailors who want to attend. We intend to surround the
Hart family with the support and strength of all those who knew him or were
by touched by his service.

To honor Lieutenant Colonel Brett Hart's life, VMX-1 is assembling a memory
book of pictures, letters, and stories from his time in the Marine Corps.
The book will be presented to his family on Friday following the service.
If you wish to contribute, please send submissions to
[email protected] or to VMX-1 at 2466 E O'Neil St; PO Box 99280; Yuma
AZ 85369-9280.

Marine Corps Air Station New River

PUBLIC NOTICE: Marine Corps Air Station New River will resume normal operations Monday, Jan. 8, 2018, and Marine Corps Air Station New River non-essential civilian and military personnel will report to work at 8 a.m.

Many roadways both on and off station have icy patches and black ice may be encountered, especially on secondary roads, elevated surfaces, bridges, overpasses, off-ramps and shady areas. Motorists should exercise caution in these areas.

Please note that the Douglass Gate will be closed Monday morning due to ice and hazardous road conditions. All personnel must use the MCAS New River Main Gate for access to the installation.

Additionally, tenant commands are staggering their reporting times Monday to assist with alleviating traffic on area roadways.

Reporting times for Monday, Jan. 8, 2018 are as follows:

- Report at normal time: Designated essential personnel

- Report at 8 a.m.: School of Infantry-East (SOI), Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training (CNATT), MCAS New River, H&HS

- Report at 10 a.m.: Marine Aircraft Group 29 (MAG-29), MAG-29 subordinate commands, and VMM-266

- Report at 12 p.m.: Marine Aircraft Group 26 (MAG-26), MAG-26 subordinate commands, and all other tenants

Note: Commanders at all levels retain prerogative to deviate from the above schedule (arrive earlier/later) for operational, training or safety reasons.

Military and civilian personnel of tenant commands who have questions regarding specific reporting circumstances should contact their chain of command or work supervisor for instruction.

Liberal leave is authorized for civilian employees facing driving hazards.

The Child Development Centers (CDCs) will open at 9 a.m.

For the latest information regarding Marine Corps Community Services’ (MCCS) activities, programs and services, visit www.facebook.com/mccslejeunenewriver.

Camp Lejeune Dependents Schools will be CLOSED for students on Monday, and faculty and staff will report at noon.

At this time, all Camp Lejeune gates are observing their normal hours of operation, and as road conditions deteriorate overnight, it’s potentially possible some temporary closures may be required. Those closures will be communicated on our social media sites as information is received from PMO.
