CALL TO ACTION: TUESDAY, AUGUST 16, 5:30 PM
Board of Elections
4024 Richlands Hwy
Jacksonville, NC 28540
The Board of Elections must decide on an Amended Early Voting Plan due to the Voter ID law being ruled unconstitutional. Early Voting is being extended to 17 days and ONE STOP VOTING is back!! Progressives need to show up in force to have our voices heard.
We need to push for Saturday hours and accessible early voting locations in every part of the county. Grassroots activism has been very successful in the other counties of NC this week.

Were We Big Enough To Underpin AFGE is currently offering a buyout which will probably save them about $7,956,000 a year in salaries. The proposal is currently being offered to Local 2385, CWA, FNR, OPEIU (Local 2) and unrepresented AFGE staff. The layoff will affect 78 employees who have an average salary of $102,000 per annum. The offer is if you're within 3 years of qualifying for AFGE health insurance you'll receive a one time check of 25% of your gross salary to walk away. (I.e., if you need 20 years to qualify and you only have 17- the 3 years will be waived) The deadline to make a decision is May 15th, 2019. Anyone is eligible for the buyout in the above mentioned groups. The National Executive Council is not affected by the buyout at this time. 6 people have accepted the terms.
Can anyone tell me if they know "who" the bargaining unit status (BUS) code "3650" belongs / belonged to? We have reason to believe it might belong to AFGE. We can only track it back to NAS Jacksonville, Fl. It is on one of our older PD's dated 1990.

Dear Local 2065, I hope that your Local is doing well! As you may have heard, I’m raising money to be the next National President of our Federation, and I could really use your help. I’ve already raised $7,446.00, but I’m trying to make it to $20,000 by August 15th, 2018. Even a small donation would help me reach my goal. I plan to use the money to canvass as many Locals and Councils that I can. I also need the money to mail out campaign literature, print brochures and flyers. Lastly, I need to pay for ground transportation, airline tickets and hotel stays when I travel more than 100 miles from Washington DC. You can make a donation on my crowdfunding campaign page by clicking here: https://www.gofundme.com/Eugene2018. Feel free to share my campaign on Facebook, Twitter and my Instagram pages too! Thank you in advance for your support. Please let me know if you have any questions about my campaign, my goal, or your concerns. Much love, Eugene Hudson Jr.
