Onslow County Senior Services is a department of the Onslow County Government. We are dedicated to serving older adults and assisting their families with aging issues in Onslow County. In cooperation with other organizations, Onslow County Senior Services serves as the focal point of services and activities for all older adults in our county. Our professional staff and volunteers are here to help

you with your needs. The senior center is a good place to join a friend for coffee, make new friends or attend one of the ongoing programs or activities offered at the center daily. You can usually find a quiet spot to read a book, put a puzzle together, play a game of pool or use one of our many computers.

Yesterday, we shared highlights from a special event where we welcomed our new Director and celebrated a valued team member as they began a new chapter.

Today, we'd like to take a moment to officially introduce our new Director, Malana Williams.

We are excited to have her join our team and look forward to the leadership, experience, and passion she brings to our organization. Please join us in welcoming her as she begins this new role serving our participants, staff, and community.

Malana Williams began her role as Senior Services Director for Onslow County Senior Services on May 18, 2026. Ms. Williams brings more than 15 years of experience in public service, social services, program management, and community engagement. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to serving individuals and families, developing innovative programs, and building partnerships that strengthen communities.
Prior to joining Onslow County Senior Services, Ms. Williams served as Senior Center Director for the Warren County Senior Center, where she oversaw daily operations, managed grants and budgets, developed programs for older adults, and led initiatives to enhance service delivery and organizational excellence. Her professional experience also includes leadership and direct-service roles with Children's Home Society of North Carolina, county departments of social services, and senior housing support programs.
Ms. Williams holds a Master of Public Administration from Ashford University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Elizabeth City State University. Her expertise includes program development, strategic planning, resource coordination, staff leadership, and community collaboration.
As Senior Services Director, Ms. Williams is committed to enhancing the quality of life for older adults in Onslow County by promoting programs and services that support healthy aging, independence, engagement, and access to community resources. She looks forward to working alongside staff, community partners, volunteers, and residents to continue building a strong and supportive network for the county's senior population.

Today we gathered to celebrate both a new beginning and a fond farewell.

We were excited to officially welcome our new Director, Malana, and look forward to the leadership and vision she will bring to our organization. At the same time, we had the opportunity to express our gratitude to our Senior Site Supervisor for Nutrition/Transportation, Alisa, for her hard work and service to our participants and community.

The Onslow County proposed budget for fiscal year 2027 is now live on our website. You can read through the proposed budget at https://www.onslowcountync.gov/ArchiveCenter/ViewFile/Item/1489
Paper copies of the budget are available for review at the Onslow County Government Center (234 NW Corridor Blvd) inside the front entrance.
A public hearing for the County budget will take place at the regular meeting June 15 at 6PM, Onslow County Government Center.

🌟 We had a star-studded morning at the Senior Center last Friday! 🌟

Our participants wowed the crowd during Friday morning’s Talent Show with singing, dancing, comedy, and more. The room was filled with smiles, laughter, and lots of applause as everyone shared their special talents.

On National Exercise Day, meet Onslow's Adult Fitness Instructor for Senior Services! 🧘‍♀️
April Fox helps seniors stay mobile with exercise programs. She recommends modifications to encourage exercise at all ages and helps our seniors get excited about movement. Onslow County Senior Services provides nutrition, enrichment, exercise and other activities to seniors ages 55 and older at 4955 Richlands Hwy.
