Job Summary
Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! MCCS is a comprehensive program that supports and enhances the quality of life for Marines, their families, and others in the Marine Corps Community. We offer a team oriented environment comprised of military personnel, civilian employees, contractors and volunteers who keep the organization functioning smoothly and effectively. This position is located at MCAS CHERRY POINT . Candidates selected for this position will serve as a MARINE & FAMILY PROGRAM TRAINER for MCCS.

Major Duties
Serve as a trainer for all training curriculum under Marine Corps Family Team Building (MCFTB) to include Readiness & Deployment Support (RDS), Lifestyle Insights, Networking, Knowledge and Skills (L.I.N.K.S.), LifeSkills, and Unit, Personal and Family Readiness Program (UPFRP) Training as directed by the MCFTB Director. Coordinates and provides trainings as installation-wide opportunities to Marines, Sailors and families as well as unit-specific opportunities as requested.

Coordinate and provide LifeSkills training. LifeSkills training encompasses the capabilities necessary to successfully meet the challenges of everyday life, the mobile military lifestyle, and heightened operational/deployment tempo using standardized templates provided by Marine and Family Division (MF); Manpower and Reserve Affairs Department (M&RA), Headquarters Marine Corps (HQMC). LifeSkills trainings strategically target the common protective factors impacting todays Marines, Sailors and Families, focusing on increasing awareness and providing skill building tools for individual and family development and readiness.

Coordinate and provide L.I.N.K.S trainings. L.I.N.K.S. training supports families by providing valuable information regarding the Marine Corps. Information includes, but is not limited to the history of the Marine Corps, community involvement, Marine Corps pay, moving while in the Marine Corps and many other topics that help families prepare for the many experiences and challenges they may face as a Marine Corps family. Training must be conducted using standardized templates provided by HQMC, MCFTB.

Coordinate and provide training on the UPFRP. Provide standardized training to Family Readiness Command Teams, Deployment Readiness Coordinators (DRC), Uniformed Readiness Coordinators (URC), and UPFRP volunteers for units supported by the installation. Provide functional systems training on all authorized and approved communication tools within Family Readiness. Develop and deliver training to supplement the HQMC templates regarding local resource information in support of the information, resource and referral service function. Assist with information and referral support for family readiness issues.

Coordinate and deliver training on RDS training to include pre-deployment, mid-deployment, return and reunion, and post-deployment, as required, using standardized templates provided by HQMC, MCFTB. Develop and deliver training to supplement the HQMC templates regarding local resource information in support of the information, resource and referral service function. Assists with information and referral support for family readiness issues of assigned units.

Maintain professional knowledge of curriculum development and materials for appropriate audiences. Facilitate marketing of course offerings to achieve maximum attendance/participation.

Establish and maintain an effective communications network among MCCS, Marine and Family Programs, Chaplains, commanders, DRCs, URC, UPFRP volunteers, and community support organizations, to facilitate best utilization of education resources.

Communicate effectively with MCFTB Director, implement and maintain evaluative measures to analyze assigned program training to determine adequacy and effectiveness of program quality. Provide evaluations and comprehensive analysis to HQMC to ensure effectiveness of training curriculum is consistent with the specific needs of Marines, Sailors and families, and to ensure quality of trainers/training meets the desired benchmarks as established by HQMC. Analyzes challenges including identifying relevant factors, gathering pertinent information, and recognizing solutions and best practices.

Recruit volunteers to serve as L.I.N.K.S. mentors, and provide L.I.N.K.S. mentor training for each volunteer. Coordinate meetings, and provide professional development opportunities for mentors. Documents L.I.N.K.S. volunteer mentors' training and service hours. Recognize volunteers in accordance with established guidelines provided by CMC (MF).



Qualifications
DUTIES CONTINUED:

Recommend changes to course content to HQMC, MCFTB regarding specific curriculum as needed for their area of operations (AOR). Works collaboratively with DRCs/URCs to recommend courses aligned to specific unit requirements. Communicate with and educate DRCs/URCs and unit Family Readiness Command Teams to promote participation in the programs. Attend Welcome Aboard briefs, all hands functions, and other public events to promote programming and recruit participants and volunteers.

Maintain accurate and complete records documenting each program presented to include, but not limited to: length of presentation, number of and demographics of participants, and participant evaluations. Prepare and submit reports as required to HQMC, MCFTB.

In some locations, may serve as the responsible point of contact for oversight, development and administration of the Volunteer Management Program to include: mission, vision, goals, objectives, marketing, improvement, organizational and development initiatives. Manage, promote, monitor and assess volunteerism and volunteer placement satisfaction. Execute coordination and build partnerships with other Marine and Family Program components, installation volunteer coordinators, volunteer ambassadors, and community agencies. Conduct briefs, trainings, and presentations to internal and external customers and outlets. Coordinate, facilitate and execute plans and management initiatives to recruit, screen, track, train, evaluate and refer Marines, Sailors, and family members to volunteer opportunities within the Marine Corps installation and outside community based on assessment of their interests, skills and prior experience. Coordinate recognition ceremonies and public awareness efforts in conjunction with the Public Affairs Office (PAO) to promote volunteerism for MF.

Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule, to include weekend and nighttime family briefs/programs. Must be able to travel in order to support MCFTB functions.

Perform other duties as assigned. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

BACHELOR’S DEGREE from an accredited college or university in a related field appropriate to the work of position AND THREE YEARS of experience in the occupation, or a related field or work area, OR an appropriate combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge and skill equivalent to that gained in the above, OR appropriate experience that demonstrates that the applicant has acquired the knowledge, skills, and abilities equivalent to that gained in the above.

Demonstrated skill to independently train, review, and analyze effectiveness of training. Must be able to train curricula which do not require professional licensure, but may require specialized education and or experience. Such functions include teaching, facilitating educationally-based groups or programs (where no clinical interpretation of behavioral health is made), administrative functions, or providing generally available information to groups or individuals. Must be able to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing; ability to develop quality training; ability to maintain effective communication and working relationships with all levels of employees and command, both inside and outside the organization; knowledge of military structure and protocol; ability to exercise initiative in resolving problems, rendering decisions, and carrying out revisions to plans; ability to work effectively with others, to supervise, to facilitate, to run meetings, and to take charge and direct an event when necessary; knowledge of community resources for Marines and their families; ability to analyze data and present logical conclusions and recommendations; ability to utilize all Microsoft applications.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Inquiries and State Criminal History Repository Check (CNACI) background checks which are required for positions that involve working with children under the age of 18.

The VA will provide a high-level professional administrative service by working on tasks and projects as assigned by the client, and ensuring they are executed on time and to the highest level of quality. The VA is responsible for being the main point of contact for their assigned clients, and being familiar with each client’s needs and preferences. The VA must have consistent and proactive communication with clients and the Account Supervisors. Virtual Assistants are expected to be available for clients during defined East Coast (EST) or West Coast (PST) service hours of 9:00 am - 6:00 pm, send weekly usage reports, respond to all communication within the two hour response window, maintain detailed and up-to-date client profiles and follow all Zirtual internal policies and protocols.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 The VA may assist the client with:
 Project management and organization- to facilitate on-time project and goal completion.
 Personal and business calendar management- scheduling and coordinating appointments as necessary; proactively monitoring the client’s calendars to identify potential conflicts and ensure the team is maximizing the client’s time.
 Research- This may include research on events, travel, projects, etc. Provide research results to the team members within established time frame, based on best practices learned in Zirtual training and team preferences.
 Purchases- ensuring specifications of the purchase meet the client’s satisfaction.
 Expense reporting and organization of expenses as necessary.
 Administrative tasks- this may include but is not limited to: inbox management, calendar management, transcription, standard business correspondence, research and data entry.
 Email inbox management- this may require, among other responsibilities, responding to and organizing emails as necessary, based on specific guidelines provided by the client and in line with Zirtual policies and practices.
 Social media management and marketing
 Attend Meetings virtually - as requested by the client. Draft agendas, take meeting minutes and provide follow up as required.
 The VA must provide continuous clear communication about task status, needs, and questions to their clients. They should:
 acknowledge all tasks assigned within the established time frame
 ensure that they understand expected due dates, and communicate any changes or delays with the client
 ensure the client is aware of their hour usage and renewal dates by sending a Weekly Usage Report, and if requested, end of day reporting.
 The VA should be open to feedback from the Account Supervisor on KPIs, task quality and time management
 The VA will reach out to the Account Supervisor whenever they need additional task support, or client coverage during a vacation or illness. The Account Supervisor will facilitate assistance from other VA's.
 The VA will ensure they accurately track all billable hours for the client in the official Zirtual time tracking system.

CHILD & YOUTH PROGRAM ASSISTANT (CY-1702-01, CY-1702-02) Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! Incumbents of drug testing designated positions will be subject to random testing. Major Duties Serves as a Child and Youth (CY) Program Assistant in one or more Child and Youth Programs (CYP). Maintains control and accounts for whereabouts and safety of children and youth ranging in age from 6 weeks to 18 years. Assists in providing and leading planned activities for program participants. Performs the more routine simple child-care tasks, following step-by-step instructions. Little or no previous training or experience is required. Work is reviewed in detail, while in progress and upon completion, to ensure and assess trainee’s progress and to evaluate attainment of training objectives and readiness for further training. Training will be of a progressively more responsible and specialized nature associated with the child-care and development operations. These duties are performed to increase knowledge of child care duties and responsibilities and to develop skills for advancing to the higher-level positions. Helps establish a program environment that promotes positive interactions with other children, youth, and adults. Helps prepare, arrange, and maintain indoor and outdoor activity areas and materials to accommodate daily schedules. Uses prepared curriculum and program materials and assists with developing a list of needed supplies and equipment for submission to the supervisor. Helps create adult-made games and play materials (mixing paint and play dough and assembling props for dramatic plays, activities, etc.). Interacts with participants using appropriate approved guidance and development techniques as provided by supervisors and Training and Curriculum Specialists. Interacts professionally with staff members, parents, and local installation command personnel. Supervises participants during daily schedule of indoor and outdoor activities and on field trips, outings, and special events. Promotes and models safety, fitness, health, and nutrition practices. Prepares and implements program options to care for participants with special needs as directed by the supervisor. Notifies supervisor of health, fire, and safety compliance concerns. Helps arrange for and serve appropriate snacks or meals where applicable. Administers medications and basic care items to participants according to prescribed procedures and CYP medical directives. Observes program participants for signs that may indicate illness, abuse, or neglect and reports as directed. Notes special instructions provided by parents. Ensures participants depart with authorized person according to written parental instructions. Assists in maintaining program participation data and completing required daily reports. Provides care and supervision, oversight, and accountability for program participants in compliance with DoD Component, and local installation policies, guidance, and standards. Completes training requirements using approved Office of Secretary of Defense and Service materials to include Department of Defense (DoD) approved competency training courses. Participates in program evaluation as required. Assists in achieving and maintaining DoD certification and national accreditation where applicable. Ensures compliance with law, policies, and regulations applicable to DoD CYPs. May work a fluctuating work schedule to complete work assignments outside of the typical work hours. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Be 18 years of age, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, have the ability to speak, read, and write English, follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively orally and in writing. Be able to lift and carry children and objects up to 45lbs independently and over 45lbs with assistance. Activities may require incumbent to drive an automobile (to include driving a government vehicle while transporting children). May be required to obtain a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) and/or a government driver’s license. Prior experience working with children or youth preferred. Must be able to obtain and maintain TIER-1 Child Care (CNACI) background checks which are required for positions that involve working with children under 18 years of age. Must pass a pre- employment physical and annual physicals thereafter, provide evidence of immunization and be free from communicable disease. Must complete all DoD training requirements within the specified time including orientation, initial, DoD Standardized Virtual Lab School Training, and annual ongoing training requirements, and required certifications. Must maintain current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and First Aid certifications. Note: This position is identified as a Test Designated Position (TDP). Possess a high school diploma or the equivalent. Be able to lift and carry children and objects up to 45lbs independently and over 45lbs with assistance. Must have six (6) months experience working with children or youth in a child or youth setting and have completed DoD Standardized Entry Level Module Training. Possess skills to interpret and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and practices under immediate supervision to provide direct care, education and development for children and youth. With DoD approved Standardized Module Training completion, employee may proceed to target level (GSE-04, $14.95 per hour) with in 18 months of employment.
