🍎 Some teachers choose a grade level.

Joyce Moussa always knew.

"I went to school solely to teach kindergarten. There was no other grade in my mind."

That passion is easy to see the moment you walk into her classroom at Abess Park Elementary School. Students are moving, participating, laughing, and learning. Every lesson is designed to keep young minds engaged and excited about coming to school.

But what stands out most isn't the activity.

It's the culture she's built.

Joyce believes respect goes both ways, and her students know they're cared for. That trust creates a classroom where children feel comfortable taking chances, asking questions, and growing both academically and personally.

After years in education, she's also found something special among her colleagues.

"The friendships... we're there to help each other if we ever need anything. I can't imagine leaving."

🎥 Watch Joyce's story and see how one kindergarten teacher is helping students build confidence, curiosity, and a sense of belonging from day one.

“She’s someone we can always count on.”

That’s how Principal Annessia Powell describes Kimberly Hayes at Duval County Public Schools GRASP Academy.

Paraprofessionals are often the quiet force behind student success. They support instruction, reinforce lessons, help students build confidence, and ensure learning continues no matter what challenges the day may bring.

After changing careers, Hayes stepped into education and quickly became an essential part of the GRASP Academy team. Whether she's helping students break down words, strengthen reading skills, or providing extra support in the classroom, her impact reaches far beyond a single lesson.

Principal Powell says Hayes is “an extension of the classroom,” helping students succeed one word, one lesson, and one breakthrough at a time. 💙

📚 What happens when a teacher loves what they do?

You get a classroom like Kennerly Cotton’s at Duval County Public Schools Westside Middle School.

From team competitions and classroom games to celebrating every small victory, Cotton has created an environment where students feel confident enough to try, supported enough to grow, and excited enough to learn.

A proud Duval graduate, she now gives back to the same community that helped shape her.

“I love Duval. I love it. I love, love it. First off, the community is really awesome... and you get to give back in the same way.” — Kennerly Cotton

Every morning, she greets students at the door, making sure they feel seen before the first lesson even begins. Because for her, teaching has never just been about math.

It’s about helping students believe in what’s possible. 💙
