Some recognition means more than a title or a plaque.

In 2024, I was honored by The Florida Bar with the Claude Pepper Outstanding Government Lawyer of the Year Award. One of the first people I wanted to share that moment with was my mother.

This photo was taken shortly after receiving the award. It was one of the last moments I was able to share with my mother. One of the last things she told me was that I should reconsider running for judge.

For the past 24 months, I have prayed and reflected on that moment and her words.
