🚒 JAKIN FIRE DEPARTMENT 🚒

BURN BAN STILL IN EFFECT

Even though our area has received some recent rainfall, the burn ban remains in effect for:

• City of Jakin
• Early County

Outdoor burning is still prohibited until further notice.

These restrictions are in place to protect lives, property, and our community from wildfires.

Please do your part:

* ❌ Do NOT burn yard debris or trash
* ❌ Do NOT start outdoor fires
* ✅ Report any signs of smoke or fire immediately

South Georgia is under a mandatory burn ban. This includes prescribed burning. If you see ANYONE burning ANYTHING, call and report it. There is no burning at all we cannot emphasize this enough. If you look at the news and see what is happening in Brantley County and Clinch County you will understand why. Multiple home and multiple acres are on fire. Please we ask you and urge you to follow this Order or you can and will be given a citation.

Today Jakin Fire/Rescue along with Early County Fire, Seminole County Fire, Early EMS, Survival Flight EMS (Seminole and Miller Units), Early SO, Seminole SO, and GSP responded to a two-vehicle accident on Hwy 84 inside the city limits of Jakin. The roadway was blocked and there are several videos floating around online of the accident. We ask that you slow down while coming through Jakin on Highway 84 as this has been the third accident in a two-week time. Beach traffic is about to pick up crossing Highway 84 at the Dollar General so if you are passing through the area, please pay attention to traffic and use caution in these intersections. Thank You.
