Queens Legal Services is honored to stand in solidarity with survivors and, supporters, and advocates in our Jamaica community! Thank you to Turning Point for Women and Families for all you do!

This year, we closed out DVAM with a Candlelight Vigil for Survivors of Domestic Violence at Rufus King Park. We heard from a survivor, supporters, and advocates. A special thank you to our partners at Queens Legal Services, NYC Commission On Human Rights, and Khaleel Bragg from Council Member Rory I. Lancman's office for joining us. We appreciate the love and support.

News on the housing right to counsel front could mean more access to legal representation!

“The expansion of the types of cases covered is really intended to get at the fact that it’s not just in housing court that tenants are set on the path to eviction,” Marika Dias, director of the Tenant Rights Coalition at Legal Services NYC, said.

Queens Legal Services is proud to provide free legal assistance in housing court. We look forward to expanding access to all low-income Queens residents.

The measure, which assures free legal representation for those facing eviction, currently only covers those earning twice the federal poverty level.
