This week's Freddy comes from Mrs. Rhinehart's class. I am honored to nominate Mialynn Smith for the Freddy Falcon Award. Each morning, Mia greets our classroom with a warm smile and a joyful spirit that truly brightens our day. She is a hardworking, focused student who gives her best effort in everything she does. Even when tasks are difficult, Mia never gives up—she approaches challenges with courage, determination, and a positive mindset. Our classroom is a kinder, happier, and more uplifting place because she is a part of it. Mia truly embodies the qualities we hope to see in all of our students. Way to go Mialynn!

This weeks Freddy comes from Mr. Hitchcock's class. Wesley is a very hard worker in the room. He is kind and such a good friend to all. He tries his best in all areas, and when he finishes his work, is always willing to help others who may need it. Wesley is a great student and a great leader. Congratulations Wesley!

It’s been amazing to see our journey with “James and the Giant Peach” continue across Jamestown Public Schools! 📚🍑

As we head into Week 3, we invite families to keep the adventure going by reading Chapters 35-36 together at home.

Throughout the month, we’ll continue sharing special guest readers in both English and Spanish for families to enjoy together. This week, we’re excited to welcome Dr. Kevin Whitaker, JPS Superintendent, as our English guest reader! ❤️💚💙💛

Tomorrow is the last day for donations!

We will be partnering with CASA and collecting items to create care packages for local children in foster care.

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) are individuals who work with children to make sure their voice is heard in court by advocating for their best interest in the pursuit of safe and permanent homes.

Each suggested donation list centers around themes of creativity, self-care, and comfort. All donations are completely optional. We kindly ask that donated items be new and unused whenever possible.

Collection bins will be located in the atrium throughout the month of May.

🏀🏈⚡ Summer is almost here — and so are our 2026 JPS Summer Camps & Clinics! ❤️💚

From football and basketball to speed and agility training, there are great opportunities for students to stay active, build skills, and have fun this summer with our Red & Green coaching staff and student-athletes!

Upcoming camps include:
⚡ Speed Development Camp — June 29-July 2 | 9 to 10:30 a.m.
🏈 Jamestown Area Youth Football Camp — June 29-July 2 | 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
🏀 Little Ballers Camp (Grades 1-4) — July 6-9 | 9 to 11:30 a.m.
⛹️ Offensive Skills Basketball Camp for Boys (Grades 5-8) — July 6-9 | 9 to 11:30 a.m.

📅 Important deadlines are approaching soon — including June 1 for Football Camp and June 5 for the Speed Camp early bird registration!

📚✏️ Jamestown Public Schools will hold UPK Registration for the 2026-27 school year on Wednesday, May 27 and Thursday, May 28! Families are encouraged to attend during the following times:

To help make the registration process as smooth as possible, families should bring a birth certificate, proof of address (signed lease or mortgage statement, recent utility bill, or government document), parent/guardian photo ID, record of physical examination and proof of lead testing, and income verification.

❗ Please note: Families with a current JPS UPK 3 student do not need to re-register their child for UPK 4.

On this day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. 🇺🇸

In observance of Memorial Day, all Jamestown Public Schools are closed on Monday, May 25. School will resume on Tuesday, May 26.
