PLEASE READ ALL THIS POST: A chance of strong to severe storms today across parts of Kentucky. Western Kentucky is in and ENHANCED RISK of severe weather. The SLIGHT RISK is like to Adair County. A quick note that our coverage area is Russell and surrounding counties.
➔ When: Timing may change slightly: After midnight CDT.
➔ Where: Greatest threat for severe weather is along and west of I-65.
➔ Details: East of I-65, lack of daytime heating will allow storms to weaken.
➔ Actions: This will be a nighttime event, plan accordingly.
In our coverage area, we are NOT even in the slight risk area. Storms are expected to weaken as they move toward us. We will NOT GO LIVE, but instead, post any warnings and show the map with the polygons.
The information will still be here for you!! This is for those who have storm anxiety as well as not scaring people into thinking they are going to be blown away. When we look at storms in a SLIGHT RISK or lower, most usually, no one is hurt or killed and you are safe in a home.
I may post if there are storm warnings west of us, but unless it is a big deal, I'm not crying wolf anymore.
If it develops into something major, I will be on live telling about it. Typically only enhanced and greater will we go live coverage, and that's simply because the bigger storms pose the greatest threat and cause the most impact.
