Have you heard of National Night Out?

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes strong police-community partnerships and

neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live and work.🤝

Neighbors across the nation are asked to lock their doors, turn on their front porch lights, and spend the evening outdoors with the community and law enforcement.

Along with the traditional outside lights and front porch vigils, many communities celebrate National Night Out by hosting block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and other various community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel, exhibits and more.

For 2026, the Jamestown Police Department has partnered with the Department of Development to host this family friendly event at Bergman Park on August 4th from 5-7 pm. 🎉

We invite our residents to join over 38 million neighbors across 17,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, and military bases worldwide to participate in this exciting evening.

There will be food, drinks, prizes, giveaways, music, and a solid sense of community.

The resolution looks to approve the purchase of one LIFEPAK 15 and one LUCAS Chest Compression System and associated equipment, through an agreement with Stryker Medical. Roush told the council during the council's most recent work session that this equipment is to get both ambulances up to where they need to be. "It just gets both of our ambulances in line," Roush said. "We purchased last fall, one set of these and this is just getting the other ambulance all situated with the same equipment."

The membership of IAFF Local 137 is deeply saddened by the passing of longtime Jamestown City Councilman Tony Dolce.

Councilman Dolce’s dedication to the City of Jamestown and the surrounding community was immense. Whether through his leadership in his church, teaching at Jamestown High School, his distinguished service on the Jamestown City Council in which he served as President for numerous years, his support of the Jamestown Tarp Skunks and the many boards and organizations he served. Tony’s commitment to making our community stronger was evident in everything he did.

The City of Jamestown has lost a true pillar of the community. His legacy of service and leadership will continue to have a lasting impact for years to come.

We extend our condolences to his beloved wife, Anne, and to his entire family.

Last night First Platoon responded to two fires and multiple other calls for assistance.

A fire caused by a malfunction in an upright storage freezer late Wednesday night damaged Jeremy’s Bel View restaurant on Foote Avenue. There is little to no visible exterior damage to the restaurant . The fire started due to a malfunction in a kitchen freezer.
