Please joining us in congratulating Battalion Chief Nate Alm on his retirement after about 22 years of service to the City of Jamestown as he works his last shift today! BC Alm was hired in the summer of 2004 after his service in the United States Air Force. He rose through multiple assignments and ranks including Municipal Fire Instructor, Investigator and Lieutenant in 2012. In April of 2024 he was transferred to the First Platoon and promoted to Battalion Chief where he ended his career. BC Alm also spent many years as a NYS Fire Instructor helping teach many students throughout Chautauqua County. Acting Fire Chief Ryan Roush noted that BC Alm was always known for his steady presence and calm demeanor no matter the situation or incident.

We wish Nate the best in his retirement and his future endeavors!

Third platoon took advantage of the nice weather a few days ago and trained with Ladder 2. Pictured are members competing in a “cone drill” which helps us hone our skills for quick and steady operations with the aerial. This is essential on scenes for high stressed moments when seconds count!

IAFF Local 137 would like to Congratulate Ryan Roush on his appointment to Acting Fire Chief of the Jamestown Fire Department. Acting Chief Roush is a 19-year veteran of JFD and has held the positions of Interim Fire Chief, Battalion Chief, Lieutenant, Fire Fighter and Fire Investigator over the course of his career. Acting Chief Roush leaves the 2nd Platoon where he had served as their Battalion Chief.
