Chanco's Grant

Chanco's Grant Welcome to Chanco's Grant neighborhood! Chanco could not bear to take Pace's life so, risking his own, he warned Pace of the pending slaughter.

Developed in the mid 1980's, Chanco's Grant consists of 129 single family homes situated on attractive wooded lots in James City County. Located at the intersection of Ironbound Road and William Bedford Road, Chanco's Grant is conveniently located to Jamestown High School and Clara Byrd Baker Elementary School. As the story goes, Chanco, a Christian convert in the employ of Richard Pace, was assig

ned by his chief, Opechancanough, to kill Pace and his family in the Jamestown uprising of 1622. Pace had situated his family along with others on the south side of the James River, opposite and upstream some distance from the Jamestown fort. Although he had to navigate down a tall, steep embankment and row a canoe some two miles downstream, he did so after securing his family and his neighbors.

Hey neighbor, there is a poll at NextDoor neighbor app, checking on your status after this storm.

Did you know? That the first two streets were built out as phase one. Then more as the housing boom of the late eighties developed.

The first two streets are electric houses, with the rest on Natural Gas. The gas main runs down the right of way on the south.

VNG sent a survey to the homeowners of the first two streets, please call if you are considering alternative heat choices.

If you have propane, you can most likely re-jet your appliance to natural for a small fee.

Alternatives... Thank you.

Also, nextdoor neighborhood is a spam free site.
