There is a low severe weather threat Friday (level 1 or 2 out of 5), mainly for areas along and just west of the Cumberland Plateau. Potential impacts will be strong to damaging wind gusts and heavy rainfall. Otherwise, hot and humid conditions will impact a significant portion of the mid state this afternoon, with heat index values reaching the mid 90s to low 100s in some areas.

NWS has issued an "Flood Watch" for most of Middle Tennessee include Fentress County from 6:00 am CDT Monday 6/8/26 to 8:00 pm CDT. Thanks EMA Director

The air you can wear has returned, and because of it, we are now in watch mode for flooding. Be vigilant tomorrow if you've gotta be out and about! We've got another wave of rain moving in tomorrow morning that will bring a risk of flash flooding. We're seeing the potential for a swath of very heavy rain to set up over the mid state tomorrow, but exactly where it sets up remains uncertain. Regardless, if it rains for an extended period of time over an area, there will be a risk for flooding, so keep an eye out. And, say it with us...TURN AROUND, DON'T DROWN!
