I am opposed, without qualification, to any storage, short-term or long-term management, or disposal of spent nuclear material that cannot be demonstrated to be safe for the people and natural resources of Fentress County.
I am currently seeking direct answers from state officials concerning this matter, and I will share any reliable information with the public as it becomes available.
Opposition does not lessen our responsibility to understand fully what may be proposed, what risks it might present, and what consequences could follow. Continued investigation is not neutrality, it is part of our responsibility to protect Fentress County. One principle, however, requires no further study: the health, safety, and long-term welfare of the people of Fentress County are my first priority and are absolutely non-negotiable.
There is no benefit to panic, but there is every reason for vigilance.
Your county government will approach this issue accordingly: with vigilance rather than fear, facts rather than speculation, and an unwavering commitment to the people we serve.

While I’m generally good with words, I don’t know if I can find the right ones to adequately express just how humbling it is to be sworn in as County Executive of this incredible community.
Days like today inevitably make us think of the past, of the many sacrifices made by our families that benefit our own lives, and of the friendships and relationships forged over years and generations that build a community that, collectively, raises up leaders as the years pass.
But days like today also make us think of the future, of the hope that new leadership offers to our county, and the incredible potential that we have to achieve new and better things for our children by working together.
I want each of you to know that it is a tremendous honor to serve you, and that I will endeavor every day to both establish and uphold a standard of service that you can be proud of.
Thank you, and have a great weekend.
- Jacob

Proud to have my wingman Jimmy J joining me at my first County Mayor Association conference this week.
To use Jimmy’s own phrase, he’s hung in there with me “like a hair in a biscuit!”
We’ve been to many conferences together over the years, and it’s an honor to be stepping into this new role with his help and support.
Thank you all for this opportunity to serve you, we’re off to a great start!

One more day until we decide our county’s future.
I’ve been all across this county over the last nine months, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned it’s that the people of Fentress County want a BETTER FUTURE, a future built on opportunity, integrity, and our hometown values.
I believe we can build that future if we’re willing to do the work, and that Fentress County’s best days are ahead of us, not in the past.
We need leaders who have not just the experience to know how government works, but the leadership skills to make it work for everyone.
That’s why this election is so important.
Don’t sit it out! Make a plan for tomorrow and get out and vote!
I would be honored to have your vote, and to serve you as your next County Executive.
Thank you, and God Bless!
